Heading off the “Fairness Doctrine”, they’ll be signing Rosie O’Donnell.

I used to like Colmes at first when our cable company finally got FNC in October of 1999. Now I always mute him as soon as he opens his mouth. Also, there is nothing more irritating to me when he pulls out his stupid notes, and makes his silly faces. To bad we have to wait until the end of the year though.
I agree with you on Kirsten Powers

This guy would be more interesting and more intelligent than Alan Colmes.
Bring him in and prop him up next to Sean and I'd start watching again.

I'm betting that since Comrade Barry successfully stole the election, liberals who never thought they'd be in power in a million years are now staring directly into their own void of experience, knowledge, and wisdom, and preparing to run for denial cover as fast as their spindly little legs can carry them.
Colmes probably doesn't want to answer the stream of "What the hell is your nutcase messiah *doing*, Colmes?" questions that the next 4 years will inevitably bring.

Yeup! I heard this on my drive home earlier. Good Riddance! This guy, with gang Obama, started the rumors about Governor Palin and trashed her and her family. I'll now watch Sean again.
Adios Homely!

Hopefully the lib replacement will be more tolerable.
When Butthead aka Colmes got excited and started lie at high speed, his eye brows arched up.
We would put the tv on mute and watch him lie and arch his eye brows.

"Alan, we hardly knew ye..." Now, the question is who will replace him? If Ed Grimley were still around...his sense of irony might work as a liberal commentator duking it out with Hannity but Ed seems more the type for The O'Reilly Factor where the host gets to smack people. Or Fred Armisen maybe, but only if he appears as Barney Frank. So Susan Estrich, Lanny Davis, Phil Donahue, James Carville, Paris Hilton? Or Stephen Colbert? For subs they should have Megyn Kelly and Stephen Colbert team up. Or Ann Coulter and James Carville. Strong conservative women pumped up on steroids going after weaker, less attractive liberal men.
They could go with Carville, which would be a logical choice for FOX, but he won't have the interesting retro hairdos and blowdry effects of Alan, reminiscent of Gene Rayburn and Ray Manzarek, which brought in the '60s-era liberal demographic. Alan's the only commentator with retro hair on TV now. They should try out a few people for a while. Arianna Huffington might be a good match for Hannity.

The perfect liberal co-host for Hannity would be Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hannity loves the guy and he is further to the left than Colmes. Now, if the people of California will just recall him.

I’d sign for this.

The only person who could be WORSE to watch than Colmes would be BOB BECKEL!!
When he was on CROSSFIRE with Lynne Cheney on Subday night, he would have to apologize to her NUMEROUS times because he had been so VICIOUS to her.

I’ve corresponded several times with Colmes. I disagree with most of his views, but he was always very courteous and respectful. I certainly can’t say the same thing about most of the journalists that I’ve exchanged emails with.
I, for one, will miss Alan.

The continued existence of Alan Colmes is a standing rebuke to any Darwinian who believes in natural selection or survival of the fittest. It has been an insult to thinking Americans for Fox to have presented Colmes as if he were a normal fully evolved hominid and worthy of airtime. He would be a far better fit in GEICO commercials.
To: DCBryan1
Not necessarily and she's just as dumb. That would be no improvement. Dick Morris might make it interesting, in a more non-confrontational manner.
As for Colmes leaving, I hope the door hits him in the a*s!
To: DCBryan1
Good luck Alan. Although I have almost never agreed with you, I do enjoy hearing the other side, no matter how wrong it might be. Although you are a big time leftist, there were times you did make me laugh with your humorous side.

Bi-Colmes. Rat..
Don't let the door "handle" stick kick you in the ass on your way out.

I approached Bill Shine (FNCs Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network. Although its bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, Im proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years. The same could not be said of Shine however as he pulled several muscles while performing cartwheels after hearing Colmes's decision.
