In response to Chris Matthews' claim that his job is to make the Barack Obama presidency a success, the Los Angeles Times Washington bureau chief Doyle McManus suggested the MSNBC host needs to see a neurologist.
Although I agree that Matthews clearly has a fixation that needs attention, I'm not sure it's physiological rather than purely psychological.
Regardless of the cause, the symptom was the source of discussion on Sunday's "Reliable Sources":

I think Matthews is the worst. You NEVER know where he’s going to be, who is going to support, what he is going to support. He is definitely all over the map though, of late, obviously in the tank for Obama.
Matthews needs a neurologist, but Queeg Olbermann, needs large doses of Lithium 4 times daily,, a padded room, and be kept away from sharp objects. He’s one rant away from going Cho.
A neurologist will just refer him to a proctologist.

I would recommend a psychiatrist for his megalomania. But I am under the impression that his prognosis would be poor given his age and the severity of his condition.

Chris Matthews is just one of the worst examples of media bias we’ve seen this election. They all gave up on hiding who they really are, commies, socialists, marxists what ever.
Sean Hannity say’s Journalism died in 2008 and it’s true. I’ve decided Fox is the only media channel I will tune my TV to. If you can’t believe the media then what good are they?
