I just got the following replies from one of the school board members. I have pasted it below along with my original email to them.
We are aware of the video shown on You Tube. It demonstrates the action of one individual which is inconsistent with the values of the district. Our administration is addressing the issue at the school. Our Superintendent has posted a message on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9ta9XKQXgE) and the CCS Homepage at (www.ccs.k12.nc.us). You may want to look at that. Please be assured that we take this seriously and will handle appropriately.

Subject: Regarding Diantha Harris
Dear Board of Education Members,
I am with an internet news site and am writing in regards to the recent controversy surrounding Diantha Harris, a 5th Grade teacher at Mary McArthur Elementary School, who was seen in a documentary unabashedly pushing her political views on her class and a one point even ridiculed a young female student who’s father is in the military and supported McCain. The was an embarrassing display of a Teacher going way outside the boundaries of being an educator and protector of students to being a bully and ridiculously un-informed, radical partisan. This, as I have no doubt you will agree, has no place in the public education system.

I would like to know if you are already investigating this and if there is any news yet on exactly when she will be removed from the classroom where she is obviously a danger to her students. Also, I would very much appreciate it if any of you would be willing to come on our program for a taped phone interview so we can get your response to the situation and information as to when we can expect an appropriate resolution to this blatant attempt at indoctrination of our children ( Americas most valuable resource). The Fayetteville Observer reports that Diatha Harris also said an internal investigation cleared her of violating state law or Cumberland County Board of Education policy.
