O is trying to buy the election. At $700 billion, exactly the same as the bailout, the US Presidency is cheap at the price.

I can say my father, who is ardently anti-Bush, has no intention of voting for Obama.
Can’t say that tranlates to a McCain vote, but it will NOT go in the Obama column either. (WV)

I’m not sure that is a good strategy. He doesn’t need any or many blue states to win and if PA is close, pouring it into PA when internals suggest he’s solid in the reds is all he needs to do.
When I see his events, he seems happy and energized, like he has the ‘mo. BO on the other hand looks fervent.

If you are always this doom and gloomy about our chances, suggest you find a new line of work that will brighten your day! Maybe I just need to get a pair of your rose-colored glasses? Then I can be bright and cheery all day long and ignore anything and everything that might upset me with an unwanted dose of reality.

Realistic? What is realistic about this election? I find it more than surreal. Id not be at all surprised to see a sudden outbreak of common sense occur across America. NObama is so far out of the mainstream he SHOULD have no chance, in NJ, CA or anywhere else! It is only with record-breaking dollars and a totally complicit media that hes come this close! We must get the reality of a McCain victory in the minds of the people. NObama and his minions are aggressively pushing the idea that hes already won, no real need for Republicans to get to the polls Tuesday. Hear! Hear!!

No offence, but I just don’t buy these numbers either. Mac up in NJ? No way. A lot FReepers thought we were somehow take NJ in 2004 and that definitely didn’t materialise.

There is a rumor here in Tucson that the evil one is planning a quick strike into Phoenix or Tucson in the final days. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go see Obama in person.
I told him I'd rather eat shards of glass.

I am with you. I quit watching TV all together and only listen to Rush and Laura Ingrham.
However I do feel a sea change here and I honestly haven’t had a feeling about this election up until the last few days.
I think the socialism message is getting through. Maybe it’s just my hope.

CA O - 44, M - 43 CA = Canada?

That simply is not true. If internal polls were like that youd see McCain outside of red states + PA to put pressure on Obama. And they wouldnt be sending Palin to Indiana to try to secure things, if McCain is up in all those states then hes up double digits in Indiana. How true. If the internal polling is really showing that - they would be in PA or MI.

I worry about fraud there, and also in the E.St. Louis area where there has been mischeif in the past.
Chicago mutts know how to cheat and steal elections. It will be a miracle if M-C can overcome.

I was thinking the same thing. CA where? Cambodia? China? Cuba? Here? Don’t count on us, boys. The Nobambi machine is in high gear. I just sent a complaint to the college my daughter attends about her stupid English teacher preaching Obambi every day in class. Request a refund and another teacher. Rallied two other students to do the same.

Every bad election cycle we've been here saying the same things. I still remember election night on this board in 1998. The Dems won every high profile race in sight, something that supposedly doesn't happen in off year election cycles. I was astonished that the voters were that stupid.
Then there was two years ago, when we lost our shorts. Deranged Rino’s around here blamed everybody in sight but their philosophy and their lousy candidates and strategies. They kept insisting I didn't vote when I knew I did. There was wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I'm not saying we need to tuck it in or give up. But this thing reminds me of 1992 and we need to not be surprised if we don't win. It isn't defeatism to believe this election is still an uphill climb. Talk of any McCain landslide is silly at this point. If Old John pulls it out it will likely be a close one. Let's all fight hard to the end.

I have a theory about the undecides. We’ve heard, I think it was Rasmussen on Fox a couple of weeks ago, say that the “refuse to answers” ratio is high this year. I too heard the 80%+ number. If that is true, then the people who are answering these flipping polls are the slugs who can never make up their mind and probably don’t end up voting anyway.
