Americans have cut back on buying cars, furniture and clothes in a tough economy, but there's one consumer item that's still enjoying healthy sales: guns. Purchases of firearms and ammunition have risen 8 to 10 percent this year, according to state and federal data.
Several variables drive sales, but many dealers, buyers and experts attribute the increase in part to concerns about the economy and fears that if Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois wins the presidency, he will join with fellow Democrats in Congress to enact new gun controls. Obama has said that he believes in an individual right to bear arms but that he also supports "common-sense safety measures."
"Even though [Obama] has a lot going for him, he's not very pro-gun," said Paul Pluff, a spokesman for Massachusetts-based Smith & Wesson, which has reported higher sales. Gun enthusiasts are "going to go out and get [firearms] while they still can."

I picked up the Glock 19 I had on layaway along with a few hi-cap mags. Stocked up on 9mm and also some 7.62x39. Purchased a nice Mosin-Nagant rifle last night since I wanted a heavy caliber hard hitting peice for my rack. Ammo for it this weekend.
My plan also includes another handgun as well as another shotgun. After that it’s mags and ammo.
so if the lower has to go through an FFL holder, theres paperwork. theyll ban it, then use it to track you down.
I just looked - a Remington 870 is out of the price range that I was looking for.
Is the Mossberg cheaper?
Dude...”wife doesn’t like them and controls budget...”
A handgun is a girls best friend.....
My goal is to have a handgun for each purse I
own.....
more than an understatement! any companies spokesman who tells me that in part, “obama has a lot going for him” cannot be thinking right. (if indeed this quote was truly his). muslim hussein has nothing going for him, period.
Tennessee has the expanded "Castle doctrine." It allows you to defend yourself and your loved ones without fear of criminal prosecution or civil litigation, provided that the person defending themselves is there legally. Forced entry into any residence, building, or vehicle allows those within to fire at will. This law also eliminates any duty to retreat, thereby providing crime victims with more legal life-saving options.

Make sure they match your shoes.
0bama opposes the Castle Doctrine, and will probably sign a federal law to the opposite.
He doesn’t want his Volunteer Brownshirts to be hurt when they are doing a bit of enforcin’ for Brother B.
thanks for the info
it should be the law in the land not just some states.
Hit a robber in MA and don’t you go to jail?
thankfully I am down south not up there in liberal lunacy land
check this out
I am from England but now live here.
couple of years ago a farmer in England shot a robber coming into his house
result robber goes to jail , yes he does but so does farmer
then farmer gets sued off robber while he’s in jail for the damage he did with the shotgun
messed up isn’t it and to think why crime is high there where I come from.
Kennesaw GA is a perfect fact of how guns control crime
Get your ammo. I was in Bass Pro Shops last night and 7 people were in line and 6 were buying ammo. The cashier said it has been like that for the last 3 days.
remember what happened when states rights came into effect last time
if he tries to force states to change their laws to suit his agenda then he’s in a for a big fight
I bought a handbag for my favorite gun... I own more guns than purses.
Hey-thereyago. Thats the way to do it. I purchased a
nice leather bag that has a concealed carry zip pocket
on the side. I carry a Glock compact 45 with an extra
mag. My purse is so heavy though that the strap
broke. My hubby fusses at me for carrying an extra mag-
adds ammo weight yadayadayada. Yeah. Whatever. I just
feel naked not having a gun and extra ammo with me.
I don’t have a permit that’s valid in this state so I haven’t used my purse for carry yet. One of these days... for now I have to rely on my husband. He always takes extra ammo too so I think you’re on the right track.
SIGs are like target pistols. Excellent guns.
As far as hunters buying guns. Bas Pro Shops was crowded last night with a crowd of people at the gun counter an dthey were buying. I got ammo and 6 out of 7 people in my line were buying ammo.
One guy even said “I am not letting Obama send me to his reeducation or death camp.” People laughed nervously.
You’re on the right track. They will not take your guns because of the second amendment.
Instead, they will do the stealth ploy by taxing the ammo to the hilt (they treid to do this is CA a few years ago).
If you have to start paying $1/wshell, they will in effect be taking away useless guns.
I already pay that with 454. When it's 8 dollars a round .... that's expensive.
Best,
L
Damn fine choice. Did you get it from the CMP or was it a 'hand me down'?
