I have been an Independent for most of my life but this year I registered as a Republican.
A have a friend who I've known for 22 years. He is an Obama supporter.
He has ended our friendship because I am supporting McCain and not Obama.
He has gone so far as to say that I'm not the person he thought I was all these years. I am angry and sad and a little stunned.
Anyone else having similar experiences over the election?
screw ‘em, some friend he/she was.
He is just following his Messiah’s commandment to “get in the face” of his opponents.
Today your friend....6 days your country. I think all of us feel the loss....
But we CAN get out there and change it and make sure it doesn’t happen....
I lost a bunch of friends recently too.
Oh well.
I ain’t supporting Marxism.
Period.
You didn’t lose a friend. He did.
Not much of a friend.
This election will tell us just who our real friends are.
Hopefully, he’ll realize his stupidity when the spell breaks.
The supporters of Hussein have way too much emotionally invested in this campaign and their cult of personality.
They don’t need friends as long as they have Hussein!
I have a friend who’s a conservative but has been telling me “it’s over, BO will win” for about a month. I’ve severed ties with him until after the election. Can’t stand that negative vibe...from ANYONE.
I’ve lost a few “friends” this way, some as long-term as that. I’m willing to overlook a friend’s propensity for being wrong-headed, but if they won’t reciprocate, it’s not worth having them around.
Oh you said it best. He didn’t lose a friend, the other guy did.
Every female in my social circle, and 40% of the men are voting for Obama. Thankfully, they just view me as some “eccentric, gun-owning curmudgeon” and leave it at that.
At least you found out what sort of friend he really was.
You’re too new here to be posting vanities.
I’ve stopped discussing politics with friends I know have opposing viewpoints. While I can’t understand how they continue to cling to a party that’s been overrun by leftists, their friendship is far more valuable, so I leave it at that.
One day, and I hope it’s not too late, they’ll hold a label like my screen name.
My husband lost his best friend, best man at our wedding, over Clinton. It happens.
Not to minimize your loss of a friend, but it happened in Nazi Germany. People that you thought were pals, your buddies, turned out to be stooges for the Third Reich. The cult of personality around the Black Fuhrer is going to destroy a lot of friendships, I’m afraid.
I am a pariah in my family because I listen to Rush.
