If Obama wins, Romney could be 'repackaged' for 2012 GOP challenge

WASHINGTON—A week from today, Americans will pick a new president, but a surprising beneficiary may be off the ballot: Mitt Romney.

With polls in key states forecasting a comfortable victory by Sen. Barack Obama and fellow Democrats, Republicans may find themselves booted out of the White House, shoved further into the minority in Congress and marginalized in the powerhouse of Washington.

If Sen. John McCain loses next Tuesday, Romney could be well positioned to rise as a leader of the Republican Party to guide conservatives through a few years in the political wilderness and a favorite for the GOP presidential nomination come 2012.

Not lies..they were coming from too many different directions at once to be lies. Just face it your man Mitt has ZERO chance in 2012, one way or the other.

Mr. Romney is the most experienced candidate that I have seen in my lifetime.

Given our current financial crisis Romney would have been an excellent choice. However, he's a Mormon and is rich. Lots of intolerance and class envy among those on the far right.

He's not my man. I was initially an FDT supporter, then when he dropped out, I was for Mitt (vs. Paul, McCain, Huckster)... as I recall, so were over 70% of the FReepers here...

For the VP stakes, I was for Mitt, cause, as I said, I never believed McCain would go conservative... The choices, as I believed them to be at the time, were Lieberman, Christ, Romney, Ridge, Hutchinson... Of that bunch, in my view, Romney is the best, hands down... I've been FULLY supportive of Palin from the get-go.

Sarah Palin and Michael Steele don’t need no steenking “repackaging.” They’re the REAL DEAL!

And yet you still haven't provided an example of your claims. Just a bunch of copy and paste garbage from mostly unsourced attributions.

Too many directions, huh? Yep...CNN, politico, their satellites... They’re playing you for a fool, trying to drive a wedge... Clearly, they’re succeeding

I’d listen to McCain any day over Romney when talking about matters of military. He can talk about it first hand, Romney cannot.

Those type of people don’t see the “big picture” or they want “somebody just like me.” Well, let me tell you, I work for attorneys (all types and who work on major tasks)and they’re not “just like me,” but I sure trust them and want them to lead, because, unlike me, they know what they’re doing.

Several active Democrats I personally know are already afraid Romney will be the nominee in 2012 and they have started trashing him directly and indirectly. I remember them celebrating when the McCain was nominated - an almost win/win situation with GOP's weakest and the most liberal candidate winning. McCain's amnesty says it all. But they want no part of Palin, and the attacks on her have turned outrageous and absurd.

BTW, the media went ballistic over Bush's 30 year old DUI, but where is the outrage over Obama's admitted drug use?

Yet another example of people not believing what people actually said using their own words.
It may be a stretch but MR supporters remind me of Barry the Marxists supports...don't believe their own ears and eyes when it come to the truth about their candidate. You betcha!

Romney is and has always been a class act and you have presented no evidence otherwise. What someone said about someone else who overheard his brother-in-law's ex-wife's hairdresser who knows someone who worked in the Romney campaign doesn't count.

Didn't want him this time. Nothing will change that in 2012.

It would be like asking Gore or Kerry to run again. Besides, it will take Mitt 8 years to make up the money he poured from his own pocket into his campaign.

Come on down! There is plenty of fish & game to sustain us.
Might need to make a few trips outside the compound for important things like diet coke for the missus, Thunderbird Coffee and a decent tequila.

Although tequila doesn't go bad as I've been told so we can make certain to have 1,460 days supply. How many cases is that? LOL

IMO, as well as my husband’s, she needs a little more professional and executive image (accomplished).
