She doesn’t look guilty at all.

All kidding aside Meth makes people go crazy. They have no grasp on reality. I know two local attorneys who threw away promising legal careers to chase meth.

Toni Miles joined the WLOX News Team in December of 2001. She is now a WLOX News Weekend co-anchor with Krystal Allan. Toni still reports and shoots, and enjoys her time out “in-the-field.”

Toni worked as a reporter at two other South Mississippi TV News stations before she began her career at WLOX. She also worked as the Public Relations Director for the Salvation Army in Gulfport.

Toni graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where she was named the school’s 1999 Outstanding Broadcast Journalism Student. She also captured the First Place award for Spot News Reporting in the 1998 Southeastern Journalism Competition in Mobile, Ala.

After graduating from Southern, Toni worked as an intern on Capitol Hill for Senator Trent Lott. But the Magnolia State beckoned her back from the Beltway.

Toni considers herself blessed because she has the opportunity to get paid for what she loves to do, and has the chance to learn something new everyday. She also enjoys learning about, and telling, the stories of the unique people who live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Toni loves to write, and uses her gift for creativity for many projects outside of work.

Toni is a competitive runner, which often comes in handy when covering a spot news story.

She has a blind Boston Terrier named Buster, who conned her into adopting him by licking her while she was holding him for a Pet of the Week video at WLOX.

Is there a course in jourwhoralism school in drug abuse? There certainly seem to be any number of drug-addled reporters and editors out there!

Gulfport police officials said Miles, 32, and three men were arrested in a multi-agency raid with a search warrant at a home on Quincy Avenue.

A multi-agency raid?
For three grams of coke and five grams of Meth?

I certainly hope they expected to find more than that.

I can go out any day and find multiple people holding much more than that.

Back in about ‘85 I was on the Gulf Coast as Sheriff Hobbs was busted for serious dealer quantities. That gave Police Chief (and Pubbie) Larkin Smith the in for Sheriff. Smith later was elected to Congress and killed in a small plane crash during a storm.
