"According to the ACORN rep I saw interviewed earlier this week, it isn't voter fraud. She said that until a vote by one of these people is cast there is nothing illegal."

It's my understanding that Ohio can register & VOTE at the same time!!

So I guess that means the court decided that fraud is legal.

Well, let’s make sure the angry voters outnumber the frauds at the polls.

Supreme Court Rules With Ohio Secretary of State on Voter Fraud Rules
The U.S. Supreme Court rules with Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay to a temporary restraining order from a federal appeals court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed with Democratic Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay on Friday to a temporary restraining order from the 6th Circuit Court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.

The decision by the full court repudiates the lower court’s ruling siding with the Ohio Republican Party and ordering Brunner to verify records of about 200,000 of 666,000 new voters this year whose driver’s license and Social Security records don’t match information in other government databases.

Hedging her bets, Brunner filed a motion late Thursday night asking the federal appeals court to extend or modify an earlier order to come up with a system to help counties verify voter eligibility.

Circuit Court Judge George Smith set the completion time for Brunner to come up with a method for validating mismatched voter registration data at midnight Saturday. Brunner, who filed a request for a stay of the order with the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday, asked for a two-week extension so she could be compliant if the high court didn’t see her way.

The Ohio Republican Party filed the initial suit challenging the state’s compliance with the Help America Vote Act, alleging that the state has no system to deal with mismatched voter records.

On Tuesday, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati sided with the GOP. Brunner responded with an appeal to the high court.

In its reply brief to the Supreme Court, the Ohio GOP said if Brunner needed relief from the temporary restraining order then she should seek it from Smith, who issued the ruling.

FOX News’ Lee Ross contributed to this report.

Sounds like the supremes are saying the State doesn’t have the responsibility to verify every registration, each county does.

Let’s wait till we hear all the details.

Wonder if we could organize a road trip so we can help the counties verify the 200K allegedly fradulent registrations. FOX said they have to verify them name by name and it’s a laborious task.

I have no idea what this means. She asked for a 2 week extension.

There’s not enough information from this story to know what this means.

I said a few days ago that the Supreme Court would simply not get involved.

I agree. All election are state elections, except for when the electoral college elects the preseident.

Kennedy, making up for his “rescue” of Bush in 2000.

He has a few more DC cocktail parties under his belt now.

"un-f'n-believable .. so vote fraud is legal now"

Exactly. My vote in Ohio is going to be cancelled out by a scumbag Obama supporter voting 14 times.

Yes but the implications of this case set AWFUL just absolutely AWFUL precendent. You can’t make an excuse for voter fraud BEFORE an election no matter what. In Bush v. Gore it was after the election in the transition period that time was cited among other things. This is miserable.

That’s the issue: Real Republicans respect the Constitution.

If I could vote twice and no one would ever know or find out?

Nope. Can’t do it.

Then Republicans need to organize and create their own ways of, shall we say, ensuring the outcomes of elections by creative means. I've had it. Until now, I've even had qualms about voting twice in an online poll to slant it, let alone encouraging cheating in a real election. NO MORE. If we want to preserve this nation and freedom, we've got to fight dirty, and if that means being "creative" in producing votes because the SCOTUS has granted that right to opponents, than that's what it is.

TIME TO FIGHT DIRTY AND BE RUTHLESS ABOUT IT.

Early voting actually allows you to bring the suit now.

If they were going to not get involved, they would have not rendered a decision - they would have left the Appeals Court ruling stand.

They pro-actively made this decision.

Ok. Either way its pretty much the same. I believe they have made a pro-active decision to send a message that they are staying away from involvement in policing the political process due to getting raked over the coals in Bush/Gore.

The Supreme Court is going to hunker down and stay out of it so don't count on them for anything this cycle.
