I think this falls in line what Karl Rove has said, there are polls and then their are POLLS which only the campaigns have access to. Rove knew that in 2004 Bush had Florida in the bag, and were scratching their heads as the the polling outfits like Marist and Rassmussen had it close or Kerry winning.

Rove also said in 2006 when confronted by a reporter about his numbers being wrong (he was guaranteeing a Republican victory for the house and senate). Rove's response was "well you have YOUR math and I have THE math." I think we saw how much we can trust his word on this matter.

("I've done a few things in my life I'm not proud of, and the things I am proud of are disgusting.")
Same reason in 2000 Bush spent so much time in FL because internals showed the race too close to call while pollsters had it a win for Bush.

( BOOMER SOONER -- VOTE FOR McCAIN/PALIN2008! LetsGetThisRight.com)
I seem to remember the media looking at exit polls late into the day were saying Kerry had swept Florida and Hannity was on the radio begging people to get out and vote..........people LIE to pollsters.... and they lie in exit polls, too.
