Move over, Tina! Palin may appear on ‘SNL’ (Go for it, Sarah!)

If you’re among those who speculate that the only thing better than Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live” would be Sarah Palin making a cameo on the show, there might be hope yet.

If the buzz is to be believed, the NBC show is working to get the vice-presidential candidate and Alaska governor on air before the election Although “Saturday Night Live,” like many other shows, doesn’t comment specifically on bookings, a rep said, “There are always talks with the candidates' camps.”

There’s also some buzz about Palin making an appearance on “The View.”

Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain have both made appearances, and “View” executive producer Bill Geddie says, “‘The View’ has established itself as a place to be seen for both the presidential and VP candidates, their wives and/or husbands and they all have an open invitation to appear on the show.’”

I sent an e-mail using the comment section of the Palin web site suggesting this as soon as I saw the resemblance. Palin should spoof Tina Fey from one of her “30 Rock” episodes.

Sarah, don’t go on “The View!” Those jealous hags would go straight for your jugular. That is just another version of Oprah’s show, which I hope you won’t ever go on, either. You’re too good for the lot of them.

For what it’s worth, I love Tina Fey’s impersonation of Palin! That line about global warming “just being God hugging us closer” had me in stitches. Sure it’s a liberal show, but it’s comedy. Take it for what it is.

What would be funny would be Palin as Tina Fey and Fey as Palin.

Giving The Spew any credibility would be a mistake on Sarah’s part. It is a worthless circle jerk of liberalism at its worst.

The View, no. There’s no point in going on with those hags to have lies, misrepresentations, and slander hurled at her. Unless she can effectively steal the show, they’ll just find something to soundbite about her visit to try to make her look bad.

SNL, absolutely. People love to see usually serious people like candidates come out of their skin and show an unexpected sense of humor. Obama has none whatsoever. Seriously, have you ever heard him crack a joke? McCain is hilarious whenever he’s on SNL. If Sarah would go on and have as much fun with it as possible, that’d help the campaign more than anything else. I bet she’d be great; they should let her host in fact. Their ratings would be massive, and they can’t deny that.

It would be kind of funny to see Palin and Fey do some kind of mirror routine.

Don't hold your breath on that, I'd be willing to bet money that Fey despises Sarah. She really didn't want to come back to SNL, but Lorne Michaels persuaded her with a bucketfull of money, and the chance to do something to bury the McCain-Palin ticket by ridiculing it.

The best way to deal with that ridicule is to roll with it, the American public appreciates a candidate who's willing to laugh at themselves. As for the View, that coven would be a dangerous place to be, but if you won't go into that lion's den, how can you say you'd go into the presidency?

The base has been bucked up by the unfair criticism that Sarah's taken from the insects at the margins of the media. Perhaps the bonbon eating crowd who have time to watch daytime TV would benefit from seeing it, as well.

I think it would be neat for Gov Palin to do an Amx commercial, like checking in at a hotel but the clerk doesn’t believe she’s the real deal and keeps acting like she is Tina Fey. Then she present her AMX card and the clerk “gets it.” Wouldn’t that be cute? Maybe we should see an older man step just slightly into the frame, and the clerk can look at him and “get” that it’s McCain. Sounds fun. But, I’m just a political news junkie.

SNL - MAYbe. The View - only if it could only be seen on the planet Mars. Caryn Johnson, i.e. Whoopie Goldberg, a Republican-hating "host"(?), Barbara Walters, a Republican-hating host, Joy Behar, a Republican-hating host - Naaaah, I don't THINK so. What's it going to prove and to whom? That Ms. Palin it willing to be set up and raked over the coals and been dissed to her face and sit there with snide remarks and nasty accusations coming her way? Somehow it just doesn't make any sense to me.

The majority of those who can manage to sit through one entire daily show of The View hold the same viewpoint of the "stars" (cough-cough). Elisabeth Hasselbeck is window dressing on an otherwise Leftist show. She must be paid a bundle for that. What other reason could there possibly be in the real world?

NO to the View. Yes to SNL.

Let those who will endorse her go on the View, like Bill Clinton.

"I'd be willing to bet money that Fey despises Sarah."

Well then, you'd win the hand. In spite of the fact that the impersonation of Palin has put Fey high up on the map, she is on record as saying that she wants a reason to NEVER have to do that again after the election. Nuff said.

Buzz here is another word for “b.s”. They are just spreading these rumors to goose up ratings for SNL. It will never happen, or should never happen.

Sarah should go on Jay Leno’s show pretty soon though.

If she goes on the view with those baby-slaughtering witches, I hope she brings Trig.

Deep down inside, they know they're wrong - thus the spewing hatred. People who have assurance of the rightness of their actions don't need to hate.

Sarah has enough of an image problem without feeding herself to the sharks on SNL.

Who was the genius who scheduled multiple Sarah Palin interviews to Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric?

Was that Steve Schmidt’s brainstorm?

it looks like you and I are the only ones who feel that way...lol I just think its too close to be going on any show.

As far as the interviews.... Someone needs to "be given the opporitunity to succeed elsewhere."

I disagree. She SHOULD do the View... She's expected to be hounded, and if so, who cares... She walked into the Lion's den and got eaten... to be expected

If, however, (as I expect), she does well, she would be speaking to millions of women -directly... She may be able to make an impact, once they see how mean the other witches are, and how real she is

I see it as a huge opportunity... This is exactly why the despicable Oprah refused to have her on her show

“Why does our side continue to dignify these loser shows like SNL and The View by appearing on them? They will ALWAYS be against our side, so you gain nothing by going on there. But you help the opposition significantly because the appearance lends political credibility to people who should not have any.”

++++++++++++++++++++++

Exactly!

Hey, why not. I know it's the belly of the beast, but if it helps garner votes with those who bother to watch it, I'm sure'd do fine.

There isn't one that will change their vote by appearing there. Spend the time in toss up states.
