ISF find large explosives cache in Salah ad Din
Multi-National Division North PAO
SALAH AD DIN, Iraq Iraqi Security Forces found a large explosives cache in southern Tikrit, Salah ad Din Oct. 11.
The cache included approximately 700 152mm white phosphorous artillery rounds and over 300 .50 caliber rounds. The cache was reported to Coalition forces who destroyed it in a controlled detonation Oct. 12.
Getting this many rounds off the street, especially ones with white phosphorous, continues to limit the ability of terrorist to kill and injure the citizens of Iraq, said Maj. Peggy Kageleiry, a spokesperson for Multi-National Division-North.

IP find IED factory in Mosul
Multi-National Division North PAO
NINAWA, Iraq Iraqi Police found an improvised explosive device factory in Mosul Oct. 12.
The factory included two bags of homemade explosives weighing about 150 pounds each, three bags of ammonium nitrate weighing about 10 pounds each and other IED making materials.
In addition to the supplies, IP detained one suspect who was in the vicinity. Iraqi Army and Coalition force Soldiers were brought to the site to help consolidate the materials for disposal.
This is just another example of the great work the Iraqi Police are doing to make their communities safer, said Maj. Peggy Kageleiry, spokesperson for Coalition forces north of Baghdad.
