Former Democrat member of the House of Representatives and current presidential candidate of the Looney Tunes Party Cynthia McKinney is alleging that 5000 prisoners were executed with one bullet to the head, and the thousands of bodies disposed of in a Louisiana swamp, using Hurricane Katrina as cover.

Still, some voters may decide to vote for her, and this can truly help McCain/Palin win on November 4. As slim as these chances truly are for them, the combined vote totals of both her and Ralph Nader can possibly get enough leftist voters to vote for them instead of voting for Barack Obama. I’m also concerned about who will truly still vote for Baldwin/Castle instead of voting for McCain/Palin on November 4, because such a move will truly only help Barack Obama. I was originally going to vote for Baldwin/Castle, then McCain truly changed my mind after he picked Sarah Palin to be his VP.

Almost this exact scenario occurs in Harry Turtledove's alternate history The Victorious Opposition, the eighth installment of his Great War series.
A black character living in Georgia hears disturbing rumors that black prisoners are being massacred in Louisiana and their bodies dumped in swamps. The nominal source is an escaped prisoner who allegedly helped with this work. In the novel, the rumors turn out to be true.
To further the parallel, here in the real world McKinney McKinny blames the "prison industrial complex" for the alleged killings "in the wake of Hurricane Katrina." In the Turtledove novel, a prison camp warden initiates the mass shootings after the nazi-style leadership sends him more prisoners than he can possibly house of feed.
One big difference: In the novel, this occurs in 1940, in the Confederate States of America, in a universe where the Confederacy won the Civil War but later fell under the control of a Hitleresque dicatator.

And after those 5000 prisoners were executed with a bullet to the head, their executioners sent a secret radio signal to the swamp zombies who retrieved the bodies, extracted all the gold fillings (because they wuz JOOOOOOZ!), then put the cadavers into a time machine and sent them back to September 11, 2001 where they were loaded into those planes that crashed into the World Trade Center for extra ballast!
