A new poll shows that one in five West Virginia voters believe Barack Obama is a Muslim.
And only half of voters in West Virginia say Obama is a Christian despite a campaign by Obama and his supporters to shoot down the false rumor that he is Muslim.
The poll of 600 likely voters was conducted by Orion Strategies for West Virginia Media and West Virginia Wesleyan College. It shows McCain 11 points ahead of Obama in West Virginia 52 percent McCain; 41 percent Obama.

He is as Muslim as he is Caucasian.
LoL! Exactly.
Well, that’s not as bad as the 45 to 50% of voters nationwide, who say that Obambi is qualified to be POTUS.
what % of muslims think that obama is a muslim?...;)
100% of the ones I know.
bump with no comment.
Isn’t it the matter of 80% of voters still believe Obama’s “False denials” that he is a mohammedan.
When the press speaks of “false rumors” they are indicating their bias.
Legally, under Shari'a, he IS a Muslim; and perhaps an apostate, or perhaps a takiya 'stealth Muslim'.
We'll know for sure if he converts reverts to Calypso Louise's fold next year.
Remember that he & Michele say they won't pick a 'new church' until after the inauguration.
99.99%.
Well. All that does is qualify him to be Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church. Katherine Jefferts Shar'ia the Holy Squidmother said that very same thing awhile back.

WV’s know the truth when they see it. He may not be Muslim, but he sure isn’t a Christian either. He’s a fascist.
Obama lies about everything in his past. Saying he is a Christian is hard to believe, considering that he lies so easily.
Perhaps he is, perhaps he’s not. Regardless, he is far more dangerous to our country than any Muslim terrorist.
I would like to point out something that may not be obvious.
The voters who say Obama is a Muslim may at least in part be correct.
Christians tend to have an “either/or” opinion of religion that is often not shared outside of Christianity. Either you are a Christian or you are not, and either you belong to a particular sect of Christianity or you do not. Importantly, you are what you say you are, for all intents and purposes, except administratively.
Judaism, on the other hand, can be confusing, and even to Jews, who often ask the (rhetorical) question, “What is a Jew?”
In the case of Jews, their “Jewishness” is a complex blend of religious, ethnic, sectarian, cultural, matriarchal, and the acceptance or rejection by other Jews. A person cannot just declare themselves to be a Jew, though many try, oddly enough.
So what about Muslims? Even trickier. This is because to a great extent, Muslims see Islam as less a formal religion than a state of being. The very word “Islam” means “submission”, and that is what Islam means to most Muslims. While chock full of ritual and other trappings, Islam is seen as an all-encompassing lifestyle, in which, if you are a Muslim, you worship Allah as a Muslim, and if you don’t, you are an “infidel”, an “un-faithful”.
So Muslims see Islam as the only religion. All other religions are just ignorant people who are nothing, because they are not Muslims. And very importantly, once you are a Muslim, you cannot, literally, stop being a Muslim. To do so is to renounce God and become an atheist.
If you show a picture of Obama as a young man wearing a turban to Muslims, they will say he is, now, a Muslim. This is the case because he once was a Muslim, and once a Muslim, always a Muslim. Muslims reject that anyone can ever quit Islam. To say that you are no longer a Muslim is meaningless to them.
In this way, Muslims think of people as they think of land. Once Muslim, land may be occupied by non-Muslims, to the shame of Muslims, but it is, and will forever remain, Muslim land. The same rule applies to people. Once they have embraced Islam, even to a tiny degree, they are forever Muslims, no matter what they say later.
Even during the early Crusades, when a Muslim knight captured a Christian knight, he might offer him a choice: Be killed, or just say “Allah Akbar” (accept Islam as their faith), and not only live, but be let go. Of course the Christians would be fighting them the next day, so this didn’t last long. But it shows how easily one could “become” a Muslim forever, in the eyes of Muslims.
So Obama may attend a Christian church (or at least one that passes as a Christian church), and he may call himself a Christian, but to Muslims, he is, and for the rest of his life will remain, a Muslim.
And while we cannot divine the truth in his heart, which is likely far more secular-atheist-leftist-socialist than religious in any way, it truly isn’t unfair to think of Obama as a Muslim. The big question that should be asked, however, is “Does Obama favor the American people more than he favors non-Americans?”
This is the real question. And the answer, based on what Obama has said in past, is that in truth, he may not. He may not put America and Americans first. And he may support some Americans far more than he supports other Americans, to the point of great unfairness.
So what his in his heart remains unknown. We must though be concerned, very concerned, what his actions might be if elected. For it doesn’t matter if he is a Muslim as much as if he acts like it.
Born in Huntington Morgana,
Don’t take the abuse personally. Most of these folks have never been there to see W.Va. beauty.
Why don’t 5 out of 5 understand that he is a Muslim?
He said it in a TV interview with George Step-in-awful-stuff.
Did you hear the words "my Muslim faith" come out of his mouth? As natural as can be, like something he has said 10,000 times before.
No, we would never have gone for Hillary. If you think that you know nothing about WV. As for Obama vs McCain, WV has the reputation of being the most patriotic state in the union. McCain all the way. Landslide.
1 in 5 WV voters are right!!!!
