Well, this is just lovely.
My mother-and-father-in-law are in San Jacinto County. They’re about an hour north of Houston, and from what I see of the track, when he comes ashore, they’re in the bullseye to the NE of Ike’s path
Oh, crap.
I’m just a bit worried because my father-in-law isn’t 100% health-wise. Thankfully, they have my mom’s realtives nearby with sturdy housing. They got some damage from Rita, and this one’s coming even closer, if he holds his current track.
It’s times like this when it is so stressful and frustrating being far away from family, especially the elders.
Ah...some good news.
I just got off the phone with my mother-in-law. I called their house, but got theiir answering machine. So I tried her cell, and got her. Turns out they decided just this morning to get the heck outta Dodge and go north to their oldest son’s place in Lubbock. They packed their luggage stuck Socks the Wonder Dog in the Expedition, and are headed north. They said they were going north on I-45 and that traffic was lighter than they expected.
MAJOR sigh of relief on my part.
