Doesn’t he know how many homes he owns?

Wonder what the number of homes he does own?

According to Rangel’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, we should blame Rangel’s wife.

We have a black state Senator here in Massachusetts who was found to have failed to file a state income tax return for,IIRC,two straight years. When asked why she said that it was because she was receiving racist death threats at the time and, thus, was too upset to file.

I swear to God this is true! Ya just can't make this stuff up!

BFD, amended returns and disclosure forms, no harm, no foul. Yawn. Obama did so with 10 times that amount paid to ACORN, no?

The Republicans need to hit this hard. 527’s need to put this in ads against Rats in house district races. He is Chairman of Ways and Means Committee. This is the committee that authors all tax legislation.

This is an opportunity to paint Rats as crooks. The corruption comes home to roost so to speak.

The Rats should force him to resign from the Committee or pay a big price at the polls.

Speaking of which, I couldn’t find which party this Representative belongs to in the article. Probably just an honest mistake...

Idiot. Since you get to write off depreciation and interest he propably wouldn’t have had to pay taxes. But there is a pattern here.

Sloppy. This is just sloppy bookkeeping. It was sloppy on his part. He probably meant to pay the taxes but it was just sloppy the way he handled it. This just a sloppy oversight on Rangle’s behalf.

Yup, you are right. You are missing something. I’m not an expert, but I’ve made money outside the US. Salary made outside the US is definitely taxable, subject to a sizeable exemption, which used to be $75,000.00.

Irrespective of whether you ultimately have to pay tax or not, you have to REPORT it.

When I went to apply for a fiance visa for Mrs. Flash I had to show financial ability for three years. I handed the officer my tax returns showing my overseas income for the three years I was overseas. She said to me “Wow. You’ve got the returns. You’re the first person I’ve ever seen do this right. Most people don’t bother to file because they will owe no tax. Then when they have to show proof of income, they can’t do it, because they haven’t filed.”

It may be different for rental income, but the idea that there are “no taxes on overseas income” is basically incorrect.

overseasMoney made outside the United States may be 1) not taxable, or 2)

Why of course. It's so easy to overlook the letter 'D' when you're searching for 'R', lol

"According to Rangel’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, we should blame Rangel’s wife."

You mean the wife that went postal at the Democratic convention because she was not happy with her hotel room and was almost arrested for disorderly conduct??

Who paid for the condo? Lobbyists? Dem contributors? Community Organizers?

This is typical for liberals and Democrats. They believe they are above the law. Impeach Rangel!

Here from the Workers World Party website, workers.org is a direct link to a set of photos showing Ramsey Clark, Lynne Stewart and current democrat chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charlie Rangel, at a Workers World Party/Troops Out Now "anti-war" rally on March 19, 2005, the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. Ramsey Clark heads the International Action Center. The IAC, along with WWP, started up that other "anti-war" group A.N.S.W.E.R. Lynne Stewart, not long ago was convicted of aiding Islamic terrorists.

"Dear Comrade Kim Jong Il ...

The National Committee of Workers World Party extends our deepest condolences on the passing of the great leader of the Korean people, Comrade President Kim Il Sung.

Comrade Kim Il Sung devoted his whole life to the Korean people's struggle for national self-determination and the international working-class struggle for socialist emancipation. With his leadership, the Korean people defeated the Japanese colonial occupation and soon after brought about the first defeat of the U.S. imperialist military machine.

For over 40 years since the armistice, the U.S. military has continued to occupy the south of Korea with troops and nuclear weapons. This occupation has been the chief obstacle to peaceful reunification of Korea and poses the chief danger of a new war on the peninsula." ...

"Workers World Party values our close, comradely relations with the Workers Party of Korea very highly. We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ...

With comradely solidarity, Sam Marcy Chairperson, Workers World Party":

Re #5:

It certainly doesn’t matter in this case. Rangel represents Harlem. It’s not like Harlem voters are going to put a Republican in his place.

if anyone think his constituency will give a rat's butt about this you are nuts.

he'll be elected as long as he is allowed to run. his people will actually think more of him now. anything that sticks it to the man is good.
