The US Presidential race was hotting up last night as this snap - said to be of White House hopeful Sarah Palin - sent the web into meltdown.
The nude photo emerged hours after Sarah, once a teenage beauty queen in her home state of Alaska, was named as Republican John McCain's running-mate.
Hundreds of websites and blogs in the USA picked up the pic, describing it as the real deal.
But Palin's camp last night poured cold water on the speculation and a spokesman for her team told the News of the World it was definitely a FAKE.

Well, that’s exactly how Palin will go down in flames — nude photos, just like Vanessa Williams lost her crown. Of course, that’s why her husband isn’t a Republican, can’t you see? But then her career will skyrocket and in 2012 she’ll run for president against Hildebeast. She’ll be down by 30 points on election day and somehow pull out a victory from the jaws of defeat, getting 85% of men, 80% of Soccer/Hockey moms, 99% of socons, 66% of feminists (confused over her “feminists for life” association), and 25% of Hillary supporters who know that Hildebeast is just a witch. Hillary’s voting bloc seemed to be the NOW vote.
Wow ... first there was the font experts that uncovered Rathergate now ... FR has every kind of expert imaginable. Even experts on the pedigree of pseudo-celebrity nude photos. :)
