Only known duty later today is unveiling news state quarter.

Pardon my ignorance, but WTH is "news state quarter?"

Like him or not, McCain is a winner, and that means he knows what he is doing politically.

Definitely. Palin would be the perfect counter-punch to Biden. He's an aggressive debater, but anyone who has seen him in action on the judiciary committee during SCOTUS nominations knows that Biden is a pompous, swaggering ass. In a one-on-one debate with another man, Biden might come across as dominant. Against a woman, he will look like a bully. Palin would be a genius pick. Praying...

Palin would be game-changing, no doubt.

Even the Alaska angle has some novelty value. We’ll see, I guess.

” Please let it be. I haven’t been this excited about a Republican race since Reagan.

You took the words right out of my mouth ! And Reagan in 1980 and 1984 were the last times I voted !

The fourth quarter released by the United States Mint in 2008 commemorates the State of Alaska. It is the 49th coin to be issued in the Mint’s 50 State Quarters® Program. On January 3, 1959, Alaska became the 49th state to be admitted into the Union. The reverse of the Alaska quarter features a grizzly bear emerging from the waters clutching a salmon in its jaw. The coin’s design includes the North Star displayed above the inscription “The Great Land” and the inscriptions “Alaska” and “1959.”

It will not be Palin, no way, no how. An inexperienced, no-name. When she gets some more experience and gets better known, perhaps then. Up against Biden? Not going to happen.

Who wins the VP debate is inconsequential. What really matters is who wins the Presidency.

“...her hubby looks a little redneckish...”

Ye Gawds, man! Her husband operates a commercial fishing boat in Alaskan waters. That takes balls of steel. And sometimes the Governor goes out fishing with her hubby!

“pawlenty vs biden?”

Perhaps, but he isn’t even traveling to Dayton Ohio today, which seems unusual, unless he is leaving this morning. He said he wasn’t going. Whereas, Romney is going, as is Christ, I believe, and Ridge, and probably Joe Lieberman and Lindsey Graham. We’ll find out soon enough who wins the door prize.

I respectfully disagree. Who wins the Presidency is important; however, as McCain is about to be 72 years old tomorrow, who becomes his VP is exceedingly important, as McCain could croak anytime during his Presidency, if he is unlucky. Then we are stuck with whomever is VP. Thus I want that VP to be able to be Prez from Day 1 should such a tragedy occur.

"And that's what we need in Washington. Real People."

AMEN to that- I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope, and pray, it's her. She would be terrific.

I haven't been excited about this election at all. I mean, I was going to vote "Not Obama"- (McCain), with zero enthusiasm. But, if this turns out to be true- I could easily and enthusiastically vote
McCain/Palin '08 .

I'd be willing to break out the checkbook and work for his campaign too.

I'm thinking of an old commercial- (car commercial? or was it a vacuum?...), where, a guy said at the end of it, in a very dramatic voice:

THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Crossing fingers it's true.
