Federal investigators probing the deadly 2001 anthrax attacks recovered
human hair samples from a telltale mailbox in Princeton, N.J.,
but the strands did not match the lead suspect in the case,
according to sources briefed on the probe.

I won't hold my breath waiting for the FBI to release the DNA analysis
that will reveal the regional origin of the hairs they DID FIND.

Especially if they are clearly Middle Eastern/Arabic.

Honestly, I'm NOT anti-FBI.
But I fear that the "head honchos" might just be hoping that enough
citizens (and Senators and Represenatives) might be tired enough
to just rubber-stamp their "conviction" of a dead man.

Bruce Ivins may be as guilty as sin.
But the FBI needs to bring in truly indisputable evidence to
bring me to accept their conclusion of this "closed case".

Thank G-d for Sen. Grassley and his crew.
I'm still a bit in awe that one of his requests for evidence involved
the use of "isotopic discrimination" in order to figure if
Ivins grew up his batch of "Amerithrax" in or around the Ft.
Detrick area or his home.

A fair number of people with bachelors degrees in Chemistry
would have to think hard about why Grassley (or his staff)
was asking this piercing question.

The human hair seems of very marginal relevance (absent a match).
Numerous letters were deposited in the mailbox over time and that week. It seems that it would only be of particular interest if found on the letter, rather than just the box.
