Again more media gibberish. The military is on a humanitarian mission. Not a single piece of U.S. military hardware is flowing into Georgia. Um, (((cough))), exactly...

Yes, I’ve never seen that look from him before but I’m impressed with it.
Don’t know who the other is, I found this pic on the net in one of the Georgia articles from the msm.

"..deaths of many there. Russian peace keeping forces have nobly carried out their duty to protect Russians against a regime accused of ethnic cleansing, the television and radio are saying. It is the old language of Russian patriotic propaganda, used over Chechnya and, before that, Afghanistan.." http://timescorrespondents.typepad.com/charles_bremner/2008/08/russia-is-bac-1.html
Well isn't this a replay of Clinton/Albright/EU/NATO when they bombed Yugoslavia? The lie and pretext being "ethnic cleansing, genocide, etc." Even though Russia didn't need a lessen in propaganda, as Putin was trained and practiced with the best of the Soviet era propagandists, the irony would be amusing if it weren't so pathetic. The false claims of genocide and ethnic cleansing created the perfect pretext for Putin. He's playing according to the rules set down by the West. The only one-upmanship the West have on him though, is that the press bought the false stories of Milosevic and the former Yugoslavia, hook, line and sinker. So those stories will maintain the supposed integrity and righteousness of the bombing of a sovereign country now reduced to the Republic of Serbia minus the latest piece of it Kosovo.
Only problem for Putin of course, is that while Clinton and his cabal were able to hoodwink almost everybody, very few people believe anything Putin says. But he is trying to play by their rules though.

I agree. GWB looks really annoyed with KGB.

For some reason I’m reminded of the scene in “Patton “ where he’s at a party at the end of the war with his staff and I’m guessing his Russian counter part with his staff and interpreter.
Int. “the General would like to make a toast”
Patton. “Tell the General I do not wish to drink with him,...or any other Russian Sonuvabitch.”
Int. “ but...sir i cannot tell the General that!”
Patton. “You tell him...word for word.”
Interpreter tells him...words exchanged...looks back at Patton.
Int. “ The General says he thinks you are a sonuvabitch too.”
Patton. (smiles) “ O.K....one sonuvabitch to another”
As they drink Patton has the look that says...I’ll be seeing you again...another day...another place.

Good move. Lets Russia keep face, gives our ally aid, and doesn’t commit us to anything.

It will be interesting to see how the Russians react at this stage. They have a hell of a lot more clout in the world economies then their Bolshevist grand dads had in the twenties. Oil and gas come to mind. And French President Nicolas Sarkozy can only go so far. Europe needs the natural gas to survive the winters.
The reality is Russia wants to regain it's lost footholds. And they have bargaining chips. For all we know, Putin and his gang are waiting with patience for signals from the G7 that they will no longer be welcome. Good excuse to go off and do what they do best. Divide and conquer.

I was kinda afraid of that. It wouldn't be the first time Russian soldiers were paid in “spoils”.

Yes, prayers indeed. My nephew is one of those special forces types and we pray for him everyday, but be assured, those prayers will be acquiring a new intensity.

Yes, Ames and Walker come to mind as prime examples. These two evil bastards should be hung out every day so each and every American can extract their own personal pound of flesh. I'm sure there are others that are performing their traitorous acts for our enemies.
Valerie Plame also comes to mind. The jury is still out, though, on whether Plame was an actual traitor or just unbelievably incompetent.

I just noticed that W’s tie is knotted way too tight in that photo. Does that mean something in diplomacy? Putin’s is too tight, as well.

Putin appears defensive and wrongfotted. <<<
LOL...it takes a real leader to "wrongfot" a guy like Putin.
Glad so many of you saw that moment....it was very telling.
Bush is playing a very delicate game...putting "humanitarian" aid troops {I'm sure their backup is close by!] into Georgia and hoping Putin will back down....it's a dicey moment.

I think you can smell the hatred between our two nations. This hatred has never gone away. I’m just waiting to see who is going to be stupid enough to actually start a major war.
We have learned nothing from history. Nothing. It’s all the same shite.
