Oh my Lucy. It would take me days to get through all of this thread!
Why the high target area up in the northeast, not industrial as to refineries or chemical plants, not sure about Military bases. Just population density?
I have always lived in areas with a large number of chemical plants and considered those a prime target.

A map of President Bush’s motorcade to Camp David was found last week in the possession of a teenager accused of stockpiling weapons and bomb-making materials, according to prosecutors.
With the possibility that the motorcade was a target, federal authorities have joined police in investigating Collin Matthew McKenzie-Gude, 18, who allegedly was storing the weapons and materials just outside Washington, D.C., at the Bethesda, Md., home where he lives with his parents.
MyFOXDC.com reports that Assistant State’s Attorney Peter Feeney disclosed the discovery of the map of Camp David during a court hearing on Tuesday in Rockville, Md. The map was marked with a motorcade route to the secluded presidential compound in western Maryland, about an hour’s drive from Washington.
Police also reportedly discovered range-finding binoculars, a CIA identification and a Geneva Convention ID, like ones given to contractors in Iraq.

“And So the Lies About Aafia Siddiqui Begin ...”
SNIPPET: “I knew this was coming. The jihadi intertubes and their allies in the “human-rights movement” were all abuzz about “Prisoner 650” prior to the news that Aaifia Siddiqui was captured in Afghanistan on July 17th. According to various “rumors” a woman has been held by the U.S. at Bagram Air Base, tortured, and raped since 2003. Who started the rumor? None other than al Qaeda itself in a video called “Escape from Bagram” in which several al Qaeda members, including Abu Yahya al-Libi himself, claimed they tried to rescue the poor woman from the evil infidels.
Laughable, no? Well, no. Because tens of millions—possibly hundreds of millions—of Muslims actually believe that “Prisoner 650” exists.
Recently several “human rights groups” began to associate “Prisoner 650” with Aaifia Siddiqqui. Based on what? Nothing other than believing that “Prisoner 650” exists, that Siddiqqui was missing and wanted by the FBI, and one of Siddiqqui’s uncles claiming he thought she had been picked up by the ISI for questioning.
If you looked closely at these “human rights groups” you’d see that they were not so much interested in, say, the rights of Tibetans for self-government as they are about getting Khalid Shiekh Mohammad martyr status. The most important being the self-styled “human rights” group at Cage Prisoners who are really a front for the followers of Omar Bakri Mohammed and Abu Hamza. Take a gander at the prisoners they’re trying to get set free and you’ll see names like Johnny Walker Lindh (admitted American Taliban), Jose Padilla (suspected in a plot to commit “dirty bomb” attacks), and, unsurprising, the blind mastermind of the first World Trade Center bombing, Sheikh Omar Abdur Rahman.
Are we getting the picture here?”

The Israel Air Force’s anti-aircraft division on Tuesday carried out a large exercise testing its response to simultaneous missile strikes by Syria, Hezbollah and Iran.
The exercise began with a single Syrian missile strike on Israel.
Experts predict that a real strike would comprise of multiple strikes from a number of different countries, which was what happened next in Tuesday’s exercise. The simulated Syrian attack was soon joined by salvos of missiles launched by Hezbollah and Iran.

DHS Awards $1.8 Billion in Preparedness Grants
The Department of Homeland Security announced approximately $1.8 billion in grants to bolster state, urban area and tribal government efforts to improve the nation’s readiness, response and recovery capabilities for both natural and man-made emergencies. The department will award approximately $3 billion in Fiscal Year 2008, and has provided roughly $25 billion in grants since Fiscal Year 2002 to state, local, and tribal governments, as well as non-profit organizations.
“These awards reflect a continued and serious commitment to first responders throughout the homeland, particularly in the highest threat areas,” said Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. “The American public understands that risk management does not mean risk elimination. Investments are made where risk is greatest, and where recipients have a clear need and plan to produce results. We have continually worked to refine the grants process, and in just a few years have enabled unprecedented capabilities building in communities around the country.”
The grant awards announced include:
Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) - $1.69 billion. HSGP is comprised of four programs:
State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) - $861.3 million to enhance state, territorial and local capabilities through planning, equipment, training and exercise activities. States must dedicate at least 25 percent of SHSP funds to law enforcement terrorism prevention activities. This includes planning, organization, equipment, and training and exercise activities.
Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) - $781.6 million to build capabilities in high-threat, high-density urban areas across the country. The seven highest risk urban areas will receive a combined total of $429.9 million, and 53 high-risk urban areas will receive a total of $351.7 million.
Metropolitan Medical Response System Program (MMRS) - $39.8 million is divided evenly among 124 MMRS jurisdictions to enhance mass casualty preparedness and response capabilities.
Citizen Corps Program (CCP) - $14.5 million to states and territories to engage citizens in community preparedness.
State Homeland Security Program Tribal (SHSP Tribal) - $1.6 million will go to 12 tribes to build preparedness and response capabilities, and implement homeland security plans. This program provides supplemental funding directly to eligible tribes, pursuant to the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Act of 2007.
Operation Stonegarden Grants (OPSG) - $60 million to land border states to enhance law enforcement border security operations. Dedicated OPSG funds will be provided, for the first time, to states on the northern border.
Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP) – $60 million to bolster catastrophic incident preparedness in designated UASI jurisdictions. Ten urban areas are receiving awards.
Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) - $15 million to support target-hardening activities at 232 nonprofit organizations at high risk of an international terrorist attack.
These five grant programs support objectives outlined in the National Preparedness Guidelines, the National Incident Management System, the National Response Framework, and the National Infrastructure Protection Plan.
