“Again, Indianapolis was formerly on F1’s schedule. It counted for the points. Even following its removal from the schedule, a lot of F1 drivers continued to race at Indy. Indeed, F1 drivers have a long history at Indianapolis.”
It is correct. The Big Indianapolis 500 was never part of F1 at least since the 70s. And I’m petty sure never. For a while Indianapolis was an F1 venue and terribly supported as a F1 venue. The Big Indianapolis 500 was never part of F1 at least since the 70s. And I’m petty sure never. They were separate races!!!!
“Best everything. “
There is no one winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. There are different winners for each class. The funny thing is that in the American version of this the ALMS, there are only a handful of cars. Lots of passing because there are four classes on the track at all times. But passing within each class is rare!!!
“Best of everything” LOL.
Not for Nascar.
You're right that it was before the 70s, and you're wrong about never. AJ Foyt, for instance, who never stepped in a Formula One car, has participated in several F1 races by virtue of his Indy 500s.

While there are different classes, there is an overall winner. Google Tom Kristensen, who holds the record for most victories at Le Mans. Or Graham Hill, who won Le Mans, a couple F1 championships, and Indy.
