Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
Apropo choice of scripture, MEG, and the red rose suits Tony very well for the love he inspired.
((((((((((MEG33))))))))))
Thank you, (((Dita))).
You are welcome, MaggieCarta.
((((((((((snugs))))))))))
I am still absorbing the shock of Tony’s death, and will be grieving for quite a while.
In the meantime, I am watching the replay of Fox News Sunday’s tribute to Tony. It struck me a few minutes ago during the first panel discussion that it is clear that Tony was so rare a human being that upon his passing no one had to reach very far to say something nice about him.
He was truly one of those “angels on earth” who touched many lives with his goodness. I wish like some of you that I had had the opportunity to meet him.
Rest In Peace Tony. He was well liked all around, no one had a bad thing to say about him. Why is it always the good ones that leave us so quickly?/Just Asking - seoul62......
My mom used to say that God didn’t need the bad ones. Maybe she was on to something ;)
(((La Enchiladita))) so good to see youFRiend.
It makes you wonder...
While the mutants of society, still roam the earth./Just Asking - seoul62.......
I am almost certain that woman pictured with Tony is Ann Compton.
I will do some searching later this evening and see if I can find another picture.
I could be wrong.
I'm watching that too. Tony was overwhelmed when he received a standing ovation when he left the WH...How sad...
I have seen that several times now and it is slowly chipping away at my resolve to remain in one piece.
It may have been mentioned- I’ve not read the entire thread- but each time I’m scanning FR and the headline “Tony Snow has died” leaps out at me, it SHOCKS me.
(((Snoqflakes)))
There goes the rest of the resolve.
No, no one could ever be. He encouraged me to ever give up nor give in.
And for that, I will always be grateful for him. What a guy.
I think someone posted video of that upthread but couldn’t find it. A heroic moment that makes me bawl.
There is no doubt that cancer is harder on loved ones than it is on the one who has it. I don’t think I could endure it if I had towatch one my little ones go through the cancer thing. Now that Tony’s gone his wife and kids have it tough. Its my big worry too for my kids. But I really think that starting a fund for Tony’s kids and showing the kids the effect that Tony’s character had on all of us whould be great. I’ll kick in te first $100.00 if one of you all start a fund. Probablt need a lawyer or accountant who knows how to set this kind of fund up. I wouldn’t have a clue.
