Does Iran really think it's a good idea to sit there with their duct-taped weapons systems and threaten the United States? Have they
seen how fast we can wipe out an army?
I'm ready to see Ahmadinejad looking like this:

You're next, buddy. We haven't forgotten your role as a hostage taker in 1979.

It’s on. Godspeed, Israel.
One of the other headlines said Iran called the “war threat” (of retaliation) a “joke.”
Uh-huh.

will be hard to hit back if precision strikes take out their missle systems on the first wave. i guess then they will resort to throwing rocks at us.

Anyone else getting a little deja vu on this one? Seems to me there was this pi$$ant about 20 years ago who drew a “line in the sand” and dared the US to cross it. A couple of days later he returned home only to find that it had disappeared. Seems to me that kinda stuffed a sock in his mouth thereafter. Of course, that was 20 years ago when the leaders of this country had some stones to back things up.

"In televised comments, he said thousands of missiles were ready to be fired at "specific and pre-determined targets". "
First: Baghdad, Riyadh, UAE, Kuwait, oil facilities, etc., attacked with conventional warheads.
Second: Russia and China will threaten to protect Iran from any attacks, as Iran will become the only intact oil producer in the region.
Third: The United States, Britain and Europe thrown into chaos from oil shortages.
Fourth: Israel, not been directly attacked, will enter a period of hightened political indecision and chaos.

Nope, different head shape, brow, ears, mouth, etc. Plus age: how long ago was the first picture take?

Are there pictures of the Iranian Hitler from the seventies?

I can’t imagine any country NOT saying they would hit back if attacked.

No way man.
Our own c.i.a. states that I’manutjob is not this person.
Course I trust the c.i.a. less then even the f.b.i.

Now, that Saddam is no longer a threat to the neighbors, we can take out or render useless the entire military technology of Iran without worrying about military balance of power in the region.
And if there is just a small disruption in oil supply, we will release SPR and the most problems will be felt by Iran and Arab suppliers and exporters of oil - so can expect an immediate spike in price of crude followed by almost just as quick crash of the price of crude as they will need to have it sold as demand collapses - and as speculators of the world unite! Contrary to popular opinion, people can’t drink much unrefined oil.

Our own c.i.a. states that Imanutjob is not this person. IIRC the CIA statement was regarding the photo in post #1 (the guy circled in red.)
That position was mostly accepted by Freepers back then.
Course I trust the c.i.a. less then even the f.b.i.
Not giving credence to CIA reports/statements is a wise choice.

I don't know about that picture, I say it looks like him on the left, though his beard wasn't quite as thick in the 70s. This photo of Ahmadinejad meeting with the other hostage takers and khomeini is definately him though.
Apparently the persian on the picture translates to "AhmadiNezhad 30 years ago" - it was published by the Iranian Press News on Nov 5, 2007.

Noses look identical. I’d say, could be.

Had not seen that photo before.
Every terrorist in that photo should have been whacked.
