Is There Legitimate Doubt About Obama's Eligibility to be President?
The Corner on National Review Online ^ | 7/6/2008 | Andy McCarthy

Posted on 07/06/2008 10:47:57 AM PDT by Aria

I had not caught up until today with this apparent controversy over whether the Hawaii birth certificate proffered by Obama's campaign is a forgery and whether there are legitimate questions about whether he was born in the United States — if he wasn't, he almost certainly would not be qualified under the Constitution and relevant immigration statutes to be president. Our Jim Geraghty seemed to pooh-pooh the birth certificate controversy about a week ago, but according to the above cited report (at a site called DougRoss@Journal) and a new one from Israeli Insider, there are new developments, and the Obama campaign appears to be stonewalling. Shouldn't it be a fairly easy matter to prove he was born in Hawaii if he really was? Why wouldn't Obama just end this quickly?

Is there anything to this?

ADDENDUM: I should add to the above that I am not a conspiracy theorist. My predisposition on the many stories floating around about Obama and his circle is to ignore them on the following theory: If there was really anything to this or that, the Clintons would have found it and gotten their media friends all over it. This story about Obama's eligibility puzzles me because (a) it is so basic, (b) it should be so easy to prove the relevant facts of his birth, (c) the Obama campaign's response to the story is bizarre, and (d) it seems to be getting worse rather than resolved.

No, but I don’t think a lot of Obama supporters would recognize a Marxist if it bit them on the ass.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

And they will eventually, if not this November, cause us all to be bitten on the ass.

River - Did Rathergate and the forged bush documents instantly explode onto the mainstream media news outlet when the blogs 1st began to report them? That issue certainly endured quite the gestation period as well - initially written off as just another desperate right wing claim despite the factual claims on the ground. No major news outlet will touch this either at this point - at least not until it has gained critical mass to where the Obama camp finds itself completely cornered. Why take a chance and report it now? Even Fox news would simply prefer others assume any and all risk with respect to a story which could still possess liability. Let the lower tier media complete the full investigation first, then, and if further information results in their litmus test for reporting, it will explode just a big as Rathergate.

Granted - if Obama produces an valid BC, this whole discussion could be over well before it goes further. Any mention of this by the major networks, even before the myth is resolved, only hurts him. Instead, this matter continues to build with no benefit to his campaign even if it can be debunked. Again - the ball is in their court, and they have yet to return.

River - In Wright’s case, perception is a much more powerful reality. Sorry, but the rest of our country that witnessed his racist, America hating rants, could ever come to the conclusion that he is just a big ‘ol “pussycat”. In his big old teddy bear kind of a way, he and the likes of him will destroy this country with a big friendly smile on his face if that’s the case.

Lastly - if your black coworkers’ intent is to intimidate others by threat of riot if their man loses, whether to lying about who he really is or otherwise - THEN LET THE RIOTS BEGIN!!! B R I N G I T ON!! Buck up and don’t be initimadated - that’s how tyrannical, godless, communist regimes learned how to control and minipulate the masses. This is STILL AMERICA!!

Now, I'm not saying that I came up with my research before anyone else did, but I did start it on June 12, and did all of it independently. The reason why it was not posted to the Internet earlier was because I tried to get WorldNetDaily.Com to publish the story.

However, they never got back to me, so I decided to create a blog for the specific purpose of publishing my research.

But, first I had to create a Photobucket account for the images.

By the time I got all of the images loaded onto it, and finished the discussion, it was Midnight on June 20th.

Anyway, I made a modest effort to spread the info onto the blogsphere...but maybe not well enough, because there are those, like Atlas Shrugged, "who have arrived rather late to the party," so to speak, and who have ignored my work.

Others, however, DID pick up on it and gave the proper attributions, like TexasDarlin and Reuven Koret, but apparently, there are still a lot of folks just waking up to the news, and thinking that THEIR research revealed something new.

In the case of the "hidden seal and stamp," well, yes, that was really "breaking news," but we're seeing a lot of rehashing of stuff we all now know about."

Many thanks to Free Republic in helping me get the word out.

Wow. So you’re saying that if we learn for a fact that Obama is not eligible to be our President, we should sit on that information? And you really are not being sarcastic?

Wow.

I guess ethics escape you.

This bothers me too, the people who are so self-righteously insisting this is a genuine document are overlooking the fact that it says on its own face that it is invalid. It all seems so weird. If the document is real what reason could there be to block out the number, I can’t think of a legitimate reason either.

"You mean,”Not that answer that I WANTED"

Easy cliched counter but no, that's exactly wrong. Not an answer to the question I asked.

Your reasoning (blacks will be angered if we rough up Obama yet don't even conceive of whites outrage if he is given affirmative action skids during the campaign) is a cousin to those (I didn't say you) who figure 9/11 was a reasonable response to past US Mid-East policies yet don't endorse our bringing the battle to them.

I wonder if George Soros knows a lot about the history of “Colonel Tom Parker”. Does anyone know if Obamalamadingdong is inordinately fond of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?

Not at all. But I am saying something about this fact.

While there's no formal statute of limitations which applies to this situation, and even if there was, it's usual application would not be exact, the idea behind it is the same; Enough is enough, at some point you are no longer pursuing justice, some victories are Pyrrhic indeed.

“I think that is part of the thinking of not voting for McCain even if it means Obabma gets in. “

That is precisely what I meant by it. People on both sides of the aisle are simply disgusted by our “leaders” incompetence and malfeasance.
