"I watched the video and it sounds worse when you hear her say it." Maybe, but not "a career-ender" -- which believe me, I would be rooting for!
I do think that the Bobby Kennedy assassination was a really bizarre thing to bring up out of nowhere -- and she could have said it better, but I do think that the fact that "Kennedy was still campaigning in June" is what she was referring to.
To turn the remark into the "threat to Obama" that not a few here alluded to, requires more gymnastics than even I can justify -- and that's going some!

Oh please, spare me. Hillary knows exactly what she's saying, just as Bill knew what he was saying when he made his Jesse Jackson comment, and what Ed Rendell was saying when he said Pennsyltuckians weren't ready to vote for a black guy.
Hillary could have used other examples to talk about long primary seasons or decisions going all the way to the convention. In fact, she could have still referred to the '68 convention without mentioning RFK's assassination at all (although I think that's a stupid convention to reference given what happened).
No, Hillary was playing upon what a lot of black people fear - that somebody will take Obama out. It catches her some flack now, but it'll die down soon, all the while it'll be in the back of people's minds.
I do think it was political suicide though - had she used it a few weeks ago, the comment would have better served her. This late in the game, it's of no use other than to make her look like some kind of crazy cat lady.
