I feel better to see this kind of article: at least some western reporters are there to see what is really happening...
It is obvious to us Americans that the schools were built cheaply and that they are not earthquake safe.
The photos we have been viewing prove this. Many of us have noticed the very thin rebar in the concrete rubble that was used on these schools.
We know that the common Chinese man is not to be blame for this.
As you know most American’s respect the Chinese. Every Chinese person I know that has come to America have been very hard working individuals. They are very respectful and gentle people and I myself have never met a Chinese that I did not like.
Most Chinese are very shy after they come to America.
We have a new Chinese family in my small country town and they are very shy, maybe because the language barrier or maybe because they were taught that most American’s are evil and that we American’s don’t like them.

you’d better watch this before posting any comments. I am living in China, while you left her to US twenty years ago. I think that I know China, my mothercountry, better than you, for China have changed a lot compared with that of 20 years ago.
And,Nytimes is the most authoritative newspapers in US, which is also the reason why I keep reading it. Man, just look at what you fellows observing in this matter, instead of paying attention on trivial newspaper of UK.
