I think the child was in the front yard on a suburban development.
A 2 year old child doesn’t belong in an unfenced yard unless an adult is within about 12 feet.
Most if not all of these types of attacks take place in spaces that are very close to the foothills or wildlands. That’s why these parents should know that they are at a high risk of such incidents.
