Well, instead of getting out of their vehicle or whatever, why didn’t they just shoot him from an armored car if they knew he had a stolen gun?

Ok you are really being cute now...and I'm not going to play along. But for anybody who really does care about what happened...the gun, taken from the scene, ballistically matched to the slug taken from the Police Dog Aulf during an autopsy conducted this afternoon was fired by Jackson. The gun, via its serial number was traced to a home robbery in the city of Pittsburgh (I believe he said 2006). The officers would not have known that the gun was stolen. Only that the decedant failed to obey the order to 'show his hands' and when he did not Aulf was released upon him (and shot fatally by Jackson) and that two Pittsburgh Police Officers returned the fire (fatally wounding Jackson).
