Christ is black therefore not because of some cultural or psychological need of black people, but because and only because Christ really enters into our world where the poor were despised and the black are, disclosing that he is with them enduring humiliation and pain and transforming oppressed slaves into liberating servants.
What the black community wants, Cone says, is for God to assist in its goal of destroying “the white enemy.”
Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community
... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.
‘I reject outright’
For a long time, I’ve commented on the “dis” component in black culture. The in-your-face, dare-you-to-stop-me attitude so familiar from the likes of Sharpton, Farrakhan, etc. During the Clinton presidency, I noticed the entire Democratic party embracing it. No respect for protocol nor for the institutions we rely on to keep society “civil”.
But black culture specialized in it. Young black men who use the F-bomb deliberately (and loudly) around little old white ladies (like me!). Little things, too. Here in the south it’s not unusual at all to have black people silently disrespect “your space”. E.g., your pushing your cart down the aisle at WalMart. All shoppers know—without thinking about it—that when approached by another shopper you discretely move to the side to let them pass. Not here...not many black people. As I move through the aisles, I can’t tell you how many times they block my way and ignore me. I say “excuse me”, they ignore me. And so on. [Maybe it’s their “left brain” thing.]
I THINK REV. WRIGHT IS SIGNALING THE TAKING OF “DISSING” TO A NEW LEVEL. He’s not just taking on our music. Our education. Our speech. Our religion. HE IS TAKING ON WESTERN CIVILIZATION ITSELF (sound familiar?).
Like the jihadists, Wright and his cohorts will next say “Why should we respect your laws...based on the Magna Carta and YOUR understanding of right and wrong?”. Make no mistake, this is an attack on the very foundations of our civilization.

Honestly SW...I just shake my head and weep.
I noticed something strange happening to me right after the "Reverend" Wright sprang onto the scene with his vile sermons. I was at a sporting event and I found myself noticing when a black person was around me. I found myself wondering If that person sat in church on Sundays and cheered the same kind of hate-filled speech that we heard from Jeremiah Wright. I wondered if that person secretly hated me and all white people. It was a disturbing moment. I felt like I had gone back to another era.
The guy who introduced him put me off.

Well, after listening to JW’s rant on Fox, I’m scared for my country like never before.....
racism will never end....it’s a REVENUE stream for the Democrats....although, I have to admit, some Democrats might just be re-thinking that about now....
It’s so wrong, but this little devil on my shoulder was wishing that mid-sentence this clown would just clutch his chest and drop like a sack of hammers...
Well...according to Wright (later in his speech this evening) he tells us we need to shout, holler and EXPRESS ourselves (paraphrase)...
