I understand you about the War on Terror, and being 25 - 26 years Air Force retired it's important to me, but it's not all.

I agree totally, but I don't believe that you understand my objection:

Ever since Reagan discovered the 'magic recipe' to harness the fullness of Conservatism, it has become prerequisite to use that method to fuse the three pillars of Conservatism into one thing.

It is not my position that other things are not as important as the GWOT, in fact, as my comments elsewhere on this thread suggest, my position is closer to your own than otherwise.

The difference goes back to the Reagan Coalition, and the bare futility of supporting other than that. Even if Barr is capable of attracting the socons (which he is), and the ficons (which he is, or at least the libertarian branch thereof), it is entirely futile to support him without the aid of the defcons, who are currently content with McCain. Barr cannot win without them, and they most certainly will *not* move to his camp if his position includes abandoning their cause. It is paramount to them.

Now, even without the Defcons, Barr can certainly serve as a vote of conscience against McCain. He can serve to block McCain's ascension, that much is true, but he cannot win unless he embraces all three pillars of Conservatism, especially so in light of the rampant Republicanism that is already raised up against him.

That is my argument against him, as it stands, bearing in mind that his position regarding the WOT is largely unknown to me- It could well be that his position therein is fully and completely acceptable, and that is my hope and pleasure.

But as a Reagan Conservative, voting only for all three pillars, for Conservative equality and unity, is more important to me than any other thing, as without that unity, there is only doom.

I have some religious thoughts on the matter [...] and how things in the end may not go so well for us in the middle east.

I am also a student of the Prophecy (you may always ping/mail me on this subject). I am sure we are in the "time of Jacob's trouble" and concurrently in the time of the "great falling away". I also believe that the Mideast crisis is probably the beginning battles of the War of Magog. I believe the false government to be liberalism/socialism/communism (worshiping a god of forces=science) and the false prophet/religion is Mohammedanism. All these things are moving inexorably to their final end.

Correct me if I'm wrong, ... but by Defcons, you mean defense conservatives, and by Socons, you mean social conservatives, and by Ficons, you mean financial conservatives?

I'm confused how McCain can be considered pro defcon when he refuses to protect our borders. Illegal immigration can't be ignored.

You and I agree on alot. But I don't care if Barr loses, I just can't vote for McCain, I can only vote against McCain.

This decline into socialism in the Republican Party must be stopped and McCain is leading the charge towards socialism, i.e. global warming, stopping drilling in ANWR, and attacking the First Amendment with Campaign Finance Reform.
