A court document says one phone number used to report alleged abuse at a polygamist retreat in Texas had been used previously by a 33-year-old Colorado woman.
It's not yet clear whether authorities suspect Rozita Swinton of Colorado Springs made any of the calls that triggered this month's raid of the compound.
An arrest warrant affidavit made public Wednesday says a phone number she had used previously was used for a call to a Texas crisis center before authorities conducted the raid and removed more than 400 children. Swinton's whereabouts are unknown.
Authorities have said a 16-year-old girl called a crisis center claiming she was abused at the compound. Authorities have not found that girl but say they have found evidence other children were abused.
If your girl friend has a phobia against polygamy and her supposed experiences, you adopt this view, and search the Internet and find a group that fits your phobia, you file a complaint based on hearsay and your girl friends supposed experiences, is that not false swearing.
“Why shouldnt she get the same due process as the fLDS members?
Its curious. I certainly hope race has nothing to do with thim.”
I certainly DO hope that it is race, because the flds are accused of raping children.
But the search warrant affidavit had statements from people who took the call, and so on. They didn’t do any false swearing. The statements on the warrant were true.
"A source close to the situation said the woman first contacted anti-ploygamy activist Flora Jessop after the raid began, claiming to need help. That call was being investigated by Arizona child welfare authorities."
Now I don't know how you make it any plainer to the fringe posters here. But maybe they think the Deseret News reporter is making it up.

Exactly. The bumbling incompetence displayed by the government in Waco is one reason so many are now distrustful.
I suggest no such thing. In San Angelo, the warrants were valid, and the raid was legal. As a result, it had a very different ending. I think we should holler to the rooftops and beyond when they’re not doing things lawfully—but when they’ve done it all according to the laws (whether we LIKE the laws or not), there’s not a leg to stand on.
I swear the next person that posts this BS should be given the ZOT.
I’m hip...just not a hippie...
I'm sorry, I missed your post #49 where you actually stated just what was wrong with the article. I must have been busy answering you accusatory post #46. : )
Doing a quick search I find nothing. So I think it safe to say that you are correct that she has not been charged in the Texas case at this time.
Do you care to issue a retraction?
I am neither the author or the publisher of the article in question. You have the link. Ask them to print a retraction.
My guess is that it was just sloppy reporting being as they linked other news article that contradicted that fact as you pointed out.
Is it possible to ZOT through a concrete head?
Thank you for clarifying.
I have nothing against any of you guys. I’ve never called you or any other poster Mormon, or pedophile, or rapist, and I never would. I have asked several posters with whom I am familiar, to clarify their Mormon affiliation, in the sake of honesty and openness. As everyone seems to be well aware, I am an ex-mormon and so I bring my own perception with me. Those who are active LDS have a perspective as well as those who have been harrassed by LEOs. When we can see motivations for actions and opinions it helps us clarify our own positions. I have no problem at all with y’all knowing that I am a former-mormon.
I too have concerns about the overreaching by CPS. Perhaps when more facts come out about the case, we freepers will be able to find more comfortable middle-ground.
Officers linked the calls to Swinton in March.
In mid-April, Texas Rangers called Colorado Springs police regarding their investigation into the Eldorado ranch.
Texas Ranger Brooks Long asked about two telephone numbers, both with Colorado Springs area codes. One of the phone numbers, the document says, "was possibly related to the reporting party for the YFZ Ranch incident,".....NOTE: (and was one of the numbers police had connected to Swinton.) TWO phone numbers, one POSSIBLY connected to the FLDS incident!
My aching back...if any of these news agencies reporting on this would spend 2 minutes doing some checking first....."SPIT!"
You prolly wanna hit the "ping" button on this.
Phone number, telephone call to crisis hot line number, time, date all will be available in the records of the phone number being alledged to have been used to call the Texas Hot Line number.... No use to argue pro or con at this stage.
The Texas Rangers went up there and I’m sure have some info. We just don’t all this yet.
A true story, a friend of mine has five kids, at the time 2-5. He is at the McDonald's in Duxbury, Mass giving the kids a Grease Fix. He goes through the drive through gets the Grease and the kids attack from the back seat, except for the two year old,, who was locked up in her car seat.
He swept his arm back, to push the kids back, the lady behind him in line dimed him to DYS. It cost him a few bucks to beat a child abuse charge, there was no Complainant on The Form when DYS, we asked why, confidential, it was tossed.

Check that article out. They claim that the calls were made to “911”.
I swear, some of these “reporters”.....
I swear, some of these reporters.....
From the "Dan Rather School of Journalism...if you don't know, FAKE IT!"
Hearsay is allowable for a search warrant, apparently. I looked up the statutes, and that’s what it seemed to say.
Not every CPS is the same, either. I had to deal with one in California. The lady they sent was wonderful, she said it was obvious my children were happy and safe, and I never heard from her again.
That Ap link doesn’t go to the AP site for me.
Do they have the actual warrant posted?
Sorry, trying to be a little funny, play on words. You are the color Country, after all :-)
