Story Behind the Story (Hillary cannot win)
Politico ^ | March 21, 2008 | Jim Vandehei

One big fact has largely been lost in the recent coverage of the Democratic presidential race: Hillary Rodham Clinton has virtually no chance of winning.

Her own campaign acknowledges there is no way that she will finish ahead in pledged delegates. That means the only way she wins is if Democratic superdelegates are ready to risk a backlash of historic proportions from the party’s most reliable constituency.

Unless Clinton is able to at least win the primary popular vote — which also would take nothing less than an electoral miracle — and use that achievement to pressure superdelegates, she has only one scenario for victory. An African-American opponent and his backers would be told that, even though he won the contest with voters, the prize is going to someone else.

People who think that scenario is even remotely likely are living on another planet.

For the first time, I have noticed a nervous twitch in someone's ears.

Shhhh...you must not mention the ears. ;)

It really isn't necessary is it.

Can I mention the mouth and the spewing of it?

That appears to be more of a deficiency for running for POTUS anyway. ; )

I'll be PC and just focus on his strong points.

2)

3)

Awww, I just give up! ; (

In a 15 round title fight, if you lose the first 8 rounds, the only way to win is with a KO. Winning the last seven won't do.

That in a nut shell is Hillary's dilemma.

Richardson's loyalty has always lied first with Richardson, then with Bill Clinton.

you need 2,025 delegates at the end. Since neither of them are going to get there,

Seems obvious to me too, but the mediots don't seem to get it. Bill'n'Hill do though and will not throw in the towel.

The Dems should have a rousing convention what with the mud slinging, delegate wooing, histrionics, spontaneous paid demonstrations in the aisles, smoke filled rooms, crack filled rooms, backstage bribery, delusions, illusions, and hand-to-hand combat. I might even watch on TV, though The Simpsons will probably be just as funny.

...”Hillary rocks, in her own awful way.”

Good points.

But if Hillary plans to tax the h#ll out of us - and is vigorously running on that platform of expropriation - the least she can do is to show us HER tax records. Where ARE they????

OBAMA: -- (stammering) the odds of me getting elected have always been, uh, lower than, uh --

Obamarama is a terrible interviewee. He always looks like his wittwe feewings are hurt by even softball questions. Or he looks petulant. Or, if he's on his game, contemptuous of the interviewers. None of this inspires confidence. I cannot bear looking at him or listening to him-- it's like watching some horrible American Idol wannabe who does NOT get to Hollywood. Makes me cringe inside.

He does deliver an inspirational speech well, however, and could be a real asset to his (chosen) race and to this country if he'd get out there with Bill Cosby and do some straight talking. He could even be a black Tony Robbins, megamultimillionaire who had huge crowds jumping up and down shouting positive slogans in unison. Many people find that energizing, motivating, and exciting. Does a lot of good for people like salesmen who get rejected every day. Really, it would probably be a great technique to get blacks who feel rejected back in the game again.

But should he make it to the White House, every Grievance Collector of color will be front and center, demanding special treatment, complaining bitterly if they feel slighted. They always feel slighted, so you see what the tone of the country would be for four years. Not pretty.

Hillary would be less horrible. She has a certain level of spunk and positive energy that might not drag the entire country into deep collective depression in the first 20 minutes of her term. How's that for faint praise?

Barry puts me in a coma in any venue. I agree about Mrs. Clinton...I never thought I’d be rooting for her. Bonnie & Clyde do not scare me anymore...we know all their tricks by now and frankly, I don’t think America wants them back in the White House.
