Israeli warplanes flew over the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday, a day after an attack by a Palestinian gunman killed eight Jewish seminary students in Jerusalem, raising tensions in the volatile region.
"Two Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace and flew over Beirut briefly before leaving the area," a senior Lebanese security official said. Speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to give official statements, he said the planes flew at a "medium altitude." (AP)
Sounds like a warning to Hezbollah?
Heh. Israel actually does this quite a bit. It drives the Lebanese absolutely up the wall, I can tell you. But who cares what they think at this point?

The official did not elaborate and the Israeli army said it knows of no activity in Beirut.
Israeli warplanes frequently fly over south Lebanon in what Israel says are reconnaissance missions. The overflights drew ground fire from Lebanese troops on at least two occasions since an Aug. 14, cease-fire ended a monthlong war between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas. They have occasionally flown over Beirut as well.

The latest Israeli overflights come amid tensions over Thursday's attack in Jerusalem at the rabbinical seminary. Hezbollah's Al-Manar satellite TV station said a previously unknown group called the Martyrs of Imad Mughniyeh and Gaza was responsible for the attack, a claim that could not immediately be verified. Mughniyeh, a senior Hezbollah commander, was killed in a car bomb in Syria last month. Hezbollah has blamed Israel for the assassination and vowed retaliation.
Yep....the school shooter had ties to the Hizzies.

yea, no coincidence the fly-over happened today

Updating target information maybe...
Both Hezbollah & Hamas flags are outside the gunman's house it seems. Perhaps a join venture by both Hamas & Hezbollah? That could make things very interesting.
updating targeting info sounds ‘bout right.
would 3 recon flights be enough to do the job throughly?
It depends on who or what they are after, could be something specific.
