UTICA, New York – The political tidal wave that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has built with a long string of victories since February 5’s Super Tuesday elections is washing over Texas, but he still trails rival Hillary Clinton in Ohio, a new Reuters/C-SPAN/Houston Chronicle poll shows.

Obama has built a six-point lead over Clinton in Texas, largely on the strength of support from what has come to be his base – younger voters and men. Evidence of his persuasive powers comes from the fact that most of those who have most recently decided for whom to support, while Clinton won more support from early deciders

Texas - Democrats

Clinton 42%

Obama 48%

Gravel <1%

Someone else 3%

Not sure 7%

In Ohio, Clinton holds a slim lead that has diminished steadily in past weeks. Her strength stems from the same demographic groups that carried her to victories earlier in the campaign, but the trend appears to favor Obama, as late deciders are more likely to support him over her, the survey shows, and 9% of Ohio Democrats say they have yet to make up their minds. Another five percent voiced favor for another candidate not now in the race. Some of those may have already voted, but some may have yet to do so.

Ohio - Democrats

Clinton 44%

Obama 42%

Gravel 1%

Someone else 5%

Not sure 9%

The Democratic Party surveys in Ohio included 708 likely voters, while the Texas survey of Democrats included 704 likely voters. Both surveys were conducted Feb. 26-28, 2008, and carry margins of error of +/- 3.8 percentage points.

Please do not do it. If more people like you do the same and vote for Hillary Clinton you will not only revive her campaign but she will win the nomination without any fight at the convention.

All what she needs to do is to win Ohio in November and she is going to be President. Obama is an empty suite and he will be utterly destroyed in the general elections.

Well, we can agree to disagree but with her extremely high negatives I don’t see how. She’s barely hanging on in her own party and I believe if she somehow wins the nomination there will be a lot of Dems furious at her for derailing Obama. The only way she could appease them would be to select him as her running mate. I don’t think he’ll go for that.

Do you think so? I still believe that Hillary Clinton will carry Ohio by 8-15 points.

The polls usually miss a lot of the young voters and his commercials have been plastered all over television and radio. In fact, I would have to think hard to try to remember a Hillary commercial that I have seen or heard. Maybe the John Glen commercial but that’s about it.

There are also a lot of manufacturing blue collar types that lost their jobs due to NAFTA.

I think he’ll take it. Not by a wide margin but a win nonetheless.

When you think about the states where Hillary wins, it brings to mind VOTE FRAUD. These are always the states where they claim vote fraud committed by Republicans when the truth is the opposite. So they commit it against their own folks. New York precincts are a fine example of the Clinton Fraud Machine.

Thanks for the info. I want her beaten everywhere, but yet I want her to stay all the way to the convention so she tries to steal the nomination via the Super Delegates and destroy the democrat party for many years to come.

I am so despondent about this whole thing. For me it is mostly the social issues but just feel sick.

I think that is a good idea. If Hillary doesn’t win some states soon she is done. We want them to fight all the way to the convention.

Thats not true! She cannot win the nomination with Texas and Ohio. What it will do is create havoic at the convention and split the Hillary/Obama camps into 2. No matter who wins at the convention if its brokered, the DNC is split and screwed; much the same way that McCain is screwing the conservative base to win over libs. Thats why I'm voting for the Sea-Hag! This is the closest you will get to total DNC anarchy! Vote Hillary and vote often!

I subscribe to your strategy but the Hope Virus is infecting Ohio.

This is why I think he’ll win:

Ohio Factory Workers to Help Decide Democratic US Presidential Nomination
http://www.voanews.com/english/2008-02-29-voa33.cfm
The union has pledged to knock on one million doors in this part of Ohio for Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic Party frontrunner. Ohio’s largest city also suffers from job losses. Amid the shuttered factories, the government counts the loss of 243,000 manufacturing jobs in the state this decade.

Yes she will win the nomination if she wins big in Texas and Ohio. All the Super Delegates will come to her side and Obama will be out by end of next week if this happens. You are playing with death here.

McCain can clinch the nomination mathematically after Texas and Ohio.

Basically, McCarthy won the popular vote and most of the delegates for the DNC nomination during the primary but the DNC power brokers did not want him. The DNC power brokers basically installed Hubert Humphrey as the nominee even though he didn’t run in the primary.

The result was massive riots at and right after the convention, and if it wasn’t for Nixon’s blowing it in office, could have caused the breakdown of the Democrat party for decades.
