I’m 23. Combining this news story with the imminent election of a liberal (whether it be a Republican or a Democrat) I may as well just bend over and grab my ankles.

I’m 23.

Just send me all your money now, sonny, and we'll call it square! ;-)

I’ve got 30 years of my money gone. You have a chance to stop it.

I'm too old and lacking the inclination. My grandchildren are way younger then you so they'll probably get your money.

I’m 39, completely “bought-in” and anticipate Zero. You’re welcome to borrow my Velcro wrist straps for your ankles — I don’t need ‘em anymore — I just yawn out of both ends.

Not so fast. Stay vertical for just a second.

We have six kids. Scarcely a day goes by where a statement that begins, “When the revolution comes. . .” doesn’t echo through my house. Also, my 14 y/o Son and I were talking about the gun grabbers (via school shooting) when he looked at me and asked why “my generation” hadn’t learned the lessons of prohibition. (Little bird turd got a charlie horse for that one.)

Point being that hope is not lost.

Those of us after the Boom should each be entitled to a photo and a letter now and then of the Baby Boomer we are being forced to adopt.

I'm 51. I've been paying maximum social security for nearly 30 years. I'll have to work another 16 before being eligible for social security. In all probability, I will have paid maximum SS for 46 years at that point and I'm anticipating little or nothing in return. Comparatively, you're at the beginning of the road. It will be collapsing long before you have anywhere close to the same financial stake in the big socialist debacle. Start saving and investing now for your retirement. Compound interest is your friend.

Instead of grabbing your ankles, you should start a movement to have all boomers declare where they stand on the abortion question. Then tell all those who are anti-life/pro-abortion...

“Sorry, you won’t be collecting any Social Security benefits because you were for killing off the 50 million+ Americans who would have lived and been paying into the system.”

I'm right there with ya on bending over, being just a few years older. By the time we are in our 40s we will probably be all out slaves to socialist security.

It's time to end this madness now! I've been seriously looking into 'under the table' work to offset what is confiscated from me by this forced "retirement pension" that I have no desire to participate in and or will never see.

No, you can't do that - if people your age made that choice, the broken system wouldn't even make it to 2041. Nope, stand up and go to work and pay, pay, pay. The "me" generations got to have theirs, and yours, and everyone's....

Put as much as you can in the 401k because SS will want you to retire at 72 or 75

I will be eligible for S/S in October. Thanks everyone for the $$. I still work and have no needs, so I plan to spend it on gambling.
