Landow Denies Authorizing Probe

Investigator Says Landow Employed Him in Willey Matter (Washington Post, Jan. 30)

By Susan Schmidt Washington Post Staff Writer Sunday, January 31, 1999; Page A22

Democratic fund-raiser Nathan Landow said yesterday that his longtime personal lawyer hired a private investigator to obtain former White House volunteer Kathleen E. Willey's telephone records.....

Landow confirmed that investigator Jared Stern was hired by attorney Saul Schwartzbach.....

Stern said yesterday that independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr's office has twice summoned him before an Alexandria grand jury investigating whether there were efforts to intimidate Willey or chill her testimony in Paula Jones's sexual harassment lawsuit.....

Stern declined to discuss the scope of the work.....

Stern was so uneasy about unspecified work he was asked to do on Willey that he called her and, using an alias, warned her someone was out to do her harm.....

Stern said he has reason to believe Willey's report of having been approached last January by a stranger jogging near her Richmond home shortly before she was to testify in the Jones lawsuit......

Landow, who has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Clinton-Gore campaigns.....

Landow has refused to testify before the grand jury, citing his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination......

I met with Jared Stern a week and a half ago when I was in DC. He confirmed to me reports that were in the press and acknowledged his role. Stern is a very accomplished PI who has contacts and has done significant work worldwide. During the campaign, I hope Stern can be helpful in really exposing what the Clintons have done with their secret police to intimidate perceived enemies. Perhaps a YouTube or commercial would be nice. He did indeed feel very uncomfortable about where the work was headed and warned Willey. Americans need to hear from him directly about the danger posed by Hillary Clinton. It cannot be overemphasized. Those of you who think a Hillary presidency will then lead the way for another conservative revolution, as Carter led to Reagan, are hopelessly naive. She will change things forever.

In case I left some room for confusion —— JARED STERN WAS NOT THE JOGGER WHO INTIMIDATED WILLEY AND THREATENED HER CHILDREN.

I keep reading your posts and marvel how it is that people like McCain never saw her flaws....

The media has the power to cover this up - but I believe this is one story that could destroy the clintons forever, if one of their henchmen admits the terror and thuggery they have committed on Americans. Shame on the Republican party for not putting the Clintons in jail where they belong. They have done a great disservice by turning the other cheek.

I have no control over it. I am armed, have security at my home, have my neighbors watching, and am trying to be as public as possible. No matter what, the Clintons can do anything to anyone at anytime. That is why she cannot be given the power of the presidency.

Excellent work, as always.

Today I'm meeting someone you spoke to a few years ago, in the hope of persuading him there is safety in numbers. It's about the cocaine/hospital/threat incident.

This is what happens when the people elect a hillbilly as president. Now the people want to elect another hillbilly to the same office. I can’t believe it.

With Obama now throwing the contest, as evidenced by last night's debate, we need to get that Manhattan Project going!

The people were as the majority have always been willing to fall for deception and these that plant deception know what the people want... they have been polled to death... watch the NEWs makers make their NEWs, advertising for McCain and Hillary and the rest of government reliant peoples. Government now represents their personal bully for toooo many people.... We even have some selling a belief that to covet another's wealth is a 'good' thing.

The best hope for the Republicans is that McCain choose Duncan Hunter for VP. Then, we can begin the impeachment drive on Jan. 21, 2009.

She will change things forever.

Yes she will. Our national motto would change from "E Pluribus Unum" to "Nothing outside the state; everything inside the state; and no opposition to the state."

That's a shift in tone from the Founding Fathers to Benito Mussolini.... From a system of individual liberty under equal laws, to a system of fascist corporatism wherein individual liberty and personal initiative/responsibility would be considered "opposition to the state."

And I agree with you; I think it is wishful (hallucinatory is probably a better word) to think an HRC presidency would set off a conservative revolution, a la Ronald Reagan, post-Carter. How easy would that be, with the Fairness Doctrine back in play? The Internet and talk radio "regulated?" The political finance laws stacked in favor of incumbants?

Thanks for posting this DFU.
