That is a very telling comment. To you, another Bush term would be unbearable. I guess Alito and Roberts don’t ring a bell with you ... and no terrorist attacks here since 9/11/01 ... etc. etc.

I’ve always thought that not even Reagan could measure up on this board, and people here would probably vote for Dukakis over Bush I if the election were held today.

And I guess taking more “poor” people completely off the tax rolls and expanding entitlements (SCHIP, Medicare drugs, privatizing SS), not to mention Harriet Miers and the 20+ million illegal aliens he wanted to grant amnesty to doesn’t ring a bell with you, either.

They had a good candidate in Hunter and no one listened. Instead they put all their efforts in drafting Fred Thompson who stumbled out of the gate and collapsed when it mattered most. Now we have a moderate (McCain), a phony (Romney) and a Christian fascist (Huckabee).

These are the days I’m glad I’m not a Republican. (And no, I’m not some DUmmie troll. I’m a registered independent who stands for smaller government, a tougher Southern border, a unified culture, limits on judicial activism, and most every other conservative principle, unlike this GOP.)

Running as President Bush's 3rd term is not going to win the election.
Furthermore, I think both Justice Roberts and Justice Alito are great, but John McCain does not share that view.
He has said he will not appoint judges like Alito, because in his view, Alito is "too conservative."
