I know endorsements are of a limited value.
Endorsments alone did NOT make up my mind to support Mitt.
But they did make me stop and look more closely at him.
I consider: National Review--arguably a pack of blue blood Republicans--endorsed Mitt. So does Ann Coulter, and she is a social-fiscal-visceral conservative.
Also in Mitt's court: Robert Bork, the judge whose nomination by Reagan started a firestorm.
Frankly, one can find conservatives of every stripe who support him...not just "social" conservatives and not just "fiscal" ones.
I hope my fellow FREEPers will consider this, especially the ones who will be voting in two weeks in Florida.
Florida must not allow McLame to get a victory in our state.

Regarding your screename “Recovering_Democrat”; it seems you and the flipping Mitt have much in common.
I hope you have been more successful than Mitt.

I’m a REAL conservative and therefore I do not endorse RINO Romney...
To: Recovering_Democrat
Coulter needs to speak up more loudly so that more conservatives hear her.

I cannot hold my nose long enough to cast a vote for Governor Romney, certainly not in the primary.
Perhaps in the general, but I pray it does not come to that.
He is another in the ‘believe what I am saying today instead of looking at my record’ group of politicians. He cowtowed for 4 years to a liberal legislature - what will he do with a liberal senate?

I would never endorse someone who supported limiting the 1st amendment .... like Fred Thompson when he voted for and endorsed the McCain / Feingold act.
Fred the RINO
Maybe I should support a TRUE CONSERVATIVE like Tancrado .... oh... he's gone. Maybe Duncan Hunter......me and all of his support could split a pizza together.

Well then the poster and Mitt also have a lot in common with Ronald Reagan and that is a darn good thing in my opinion. :-) It doesn't matter how we all got to our conservative philosophies and beliefs. What matters is that we got here!! Romney himself said that as he grows older Reagan gets wiser.
Thanks for the post R_D.

Thompson endorsed McCain/Feingold? If ever there was a ripping to the Republican party it was McCain/Feingold. I really, really hope for Fred’s sake, if he does withdraw, that he DOES NOT put his support towards his ‘friend’ McCain. Then I will never be able to call him a conservative. Somewhere I heard that he might and it may have just been hearsay, but I am very much hoping this is all it is. However it was a while back like three weeks ago.

Some of us have been on this forum a lot longer than you and can tell you that Recovering_Democrat is more than a one-dimensional poster. What he generally posts is thoughful and reasoned.
Unlike some of the one-dimensional types around here, however, I don't think religious bigotry has much influence with him.
FWIW, I'd be interested in knowing who Katherine Harris is backing. Considering that prissy Lindsey "Amnesty" Graham was backing McCain in South Carolina and Jim DeMint, one of the most solid conservatives in the U.S. Senate, was backing Romney, I'm a likely switch also if Fred Thompson drops out.

Are you saying Ann Coulter is a Democrat then? This is what your post towards the initial thread poster implies. I guess it also implies Laura Ingraham is also a Democrat and Rush Limbaugh . . . if your logic follows they are all Democrats.

I’ll be voting for Romney, also.
I saw him on Saturday night when he made his first showing in Florida after he won Nevada. I am now one of his many, many volunteers here in the Northeast Florida area.
I made up my mind a few weeks ago. I love Fred, but he’s a yawner for me. I’m a Christian, but I wouldn’t dare vote for Huckabee, and I certainly won’t vote for McCain, for a number of reasons that need no explanation.

Boy, Romney sure racked up some endorsements in Florida! I think more and more conservatives will get behind him as he is indeed our best chance to take the white house.

I just looked up the Florida donations
Rudy 3.466 million
Mitt 2.712 million
Mccain 1.681 million
Fred 500,000 plus a little.
fwit. Mitt a million plus over johnboy. Rudy probably has the most because he was frontrunner for so long, more donations earlier, that is a guess.
Alachua county voting started 1/14, ends 1/29.
