Is Clovis AFB still there? Time to move it. Cannon AFB is still at Clovis. A couple of years ago it was to be closed as per BRAC, but the whole state congressional delegation plus Richardson lobbied for a change in mission and saved it as 1/3 of the jobs in Clovis relied on it. The last fighter squadron was deactivated in December.
The base is now home to Home of the 27th Special Operations Wing whose missions include "infiltration, exfiltration and re-supply of special operations forces; air refueling of special operations rotary wing and tiltrotor aircraft; and precision fire support."

(The only access <s>Hillary</s>Richardson-care will bring is access to a waiting list.)

Their real mission - find a tree, a pretty girl, or someplace nice within a 4 hour drive of Cannon AFB, NM!
