"My question for you evangelicals is this. If youre looking for a real conservative, why are you supporting Huckabee? Hes completely discredited himself. What about Fred Thompson? If youre looking for a real conservative. Huckabee is constantly engaging in class warfare against the producers. This laid-off line, its an attack on Romney, but its an attack on producers. Its an attack on employers. Its pure populism. He does oppose school choice! You dont get the NEA endorsement in New Hampshire by supporting school choice."

and my response was to that 0 , ie
And give Reid and Pelosi and more of the same more power - yep, that worked out good in 2006
If you have to hold your nose to vote R - that might be smarter than cutting it off
Hey:’)
He called me hon. (grin) I wrote him up.
Hey Cindy. Good to see you again.
I hear ya. I like Duncan Hunter as well - and I think it is terrible the way the MSM (and even FoxNews) have shut him out. They have done the same thing to Thompson. When he finished 3rd in Iowa, all we heard about that night was McCain!
Hunter is a good man who has fought the good fight.
Sadly, it may be that both he, and Fred, are thrown aside and we are stuck with Gomer Huckabee or Myth Romney.
At least we won't have to wait 11 months to know if the GOP has a chance in 08. It will be a forgone conclusion that we will be blown out. The GOP will be lucky to carry 10 states. So we can just accept it and quit worrying - and prepare ourselves for a Democrat takeover.
The evangelical homeschoolers I know who are supporting him are doing so because he is a Baptist pastor and therefore “one of them”.
I have asked them why not Thompson and they tell me Dr. Dobson said that he is not a Christian.
Me? None. I don't care about social issues. I back Fred because I think he should be at least acceptable to all the major factions in the GOP coalition—on social issues as well as on the ones I do care about. If I were to pick the ideal candidate based solely on the issues I care the most about, it would be yet someone else.
Hopefully not. If they both can stay in, it’s going to mess up some plans I think.
Thanks. Good to see you too.
So True. Duncan Hunter is a Conservative’s Conservative!
Why not?
CAMPAIGN WATCH
I must confess that Fred Thompson] is the only one [of the GOP presidential candidates] I dont have major reservations aboutapart from his electability. Yes, I worry that he supported McCain-Feingold and that he might not be a strong supply-sider. But on most issues, he seems reliably conservative and appears to have a solid and strong character. I do believe that with Fred, we know what we are getting. I find his lack of fire in the belly refreshing. He strikes me as one of the few presidential candidates since Ronald Reagan whose primary motivation is not personal aggrandizement but rather serving and leading the nation in very troubled and dangerous times. I see him as almost being drafted into this project, and his refusal to drool publicly over the prospect of becoming the most powerful man in the world is positively delightful. David Limbaugh
My preferences in order are:
Thompson, Hunter, Romney, Rudy and the other two democrats Huckabee and McCain. (I think they might be gay):-)
I was an ER nurse. He was being...well, I reported him for calling me hon. Everyone got a big laugh...one of those times when you just have to be there, I guess..... Ok, I’m back on topic.
If, God forbid, either Hunter or Thompson were to get pushed out. I’m fully confident one will pickup the others voters. Hopefully that will be enough to put the nomination solidly in the remaining camp.
Frankly I would love to see a run-off between the two of them. While I would support Fred I would gladly vote for Hunter in the general election. A win-win for me because I get to vote for a true conservative in both situations.
I’m not even gonna go there lol.
What Evangelicals seem to be missing or ignoring here is that the Huck is a socialist nanny stater. That philosophy doesn't jive with the Christian principles and values I'm familiar with.
