He didn’t say it. He asked a question. He’d already made it clear that he wasn’t going to evaluate Mormonism before the reporter baited him into what he thought was an off-the-record side discussion.

Even if Governor Huckabee had been crooked enough to say one thing and do another, he’s clearly not naive enough to have believed he could get away with it.

FR courtesy and custom is to include a Freeper in the "to" box when you call his name.

To the point, if he is that baitable by a reporter, he will be way out of his league dealing with both our friends and enemies.

He's toast - if not off this, it's just a matter of time until the shark will be well and truly jumped.

Ah, but he is. He feigned ignorance when he was the keynote speaker at the infamous 1998 SBC convention in SLC where the Baptists were on the hunt to convert Mormons. He knows what the Baptist position and claims about Mormonism are.

At least he exited on this quickly.
