The weather up there is pretty bad, I wouldn’t drive if I could avoid it.

In Colorado that's a little over an hour's drive down the I-25. Colorado Springs is 90 minutes to 2 hours drive from Denver.

I wouldnt doubt hed planned his day out for today.....
Give the weather and road conditions since Friday, 70 miles IS a long drive. Parts of I-25 were actually closed down on and off for short periods of time. So, that drive, which I used to make every day, twice a day, SUCKS and it is LONG and it can be bumper to bumper in the Denver area and in the Springs, AND in bad weather was treacherous.
