That's the truth IMHO. I've not heard about 'the golden compass' ...but will need to check into it.

As an aside... Regarding The Golden Compass... I went right to the Horse’s Mouth so to speak. The author of the books himself is an atheist and stated that the whole reason he wrote the books was an effort to destroy children’s faith in G-d. Knowing that was enough for me to say — No, Never... And, incidently after reading the author’s own words my eldest daughter views it the same as I do... :) I’m not normally one to jump on the bandwagon of censorship in regards to my children (i.e. they and I enjoy the Harry Potter series). However, in this case, I believe it was necessary to take a very firm stand against it.
