Condolences for the relative with schzophrenia.
I agree that there appears to be a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia that can be very powerful.
I do think that schizophrenia still seems to be more of a ‘catch-all’ diagnosis for very complex collections of dynamics and behaviors.
I don’t think anyone has a flawless handle on what percentage of things are truly genetic/bio-chemical and what are relational, early conditioning etc.
Most don’t care—give a med and move on seems to be the attitude.
In many cases, that’s the best that can be done anyway.
