Please also note though that some of his other choices of postings in the last month or so also included quotes from Alestair Crowley, and the Lib Oz Rights “creed”. I don’t think he was just listening to the music. It honestly looks like he “turned the corner” and if he wasn’t already a flat-out Satanist he was quickly on his way to becoming one, IMHO... It’s not something one “dabbles” in without influence occuring, IMO. Combine that with his grudge against Christians, and his obvious anger towards G-d and you’ve got a real prescription for disaster there...

She said she read the news about the other shootings on the INternet that morning. The Pastor said he was in his office at 7:30 Am when Jeanne (he didn’t name her at the time) came in and reported the news about the other shootings and suggested they bring in added security. And evidently they also implemented their “plan” for just such a threat (volunteers who would know where to take people out of harm’s way).
Jeanne who is usually the Pastor’s “bodyguard” during the time she serves as volunteer security - was assigned or took up the post in the middle of the rotunda of the entryway into their church.
Surely it was the Holy Spirit speaking to her through her attention to HIS VOICE and HIS NUDGES (which were heightened no doubt after 3 days of fasting)....that she acted. Had she not acted and used good sense and followed the “nudges” she had gotten from the news of the previous shooting and from the HOly Spirt, many many more innocent people would be dead.
She followed HER FATHER (God) and the perp was following HIS FATHER (satan) and God won!
It is still so tragic that a young man would turn to destruction ala the Columbine killers.
This young man now knows that God is real, that HIs Word is, sadly for him now, quite literally true.
You know, I had been thinking this week that one of the things that needs to make a comeback in our time is the teaching about the reality of hell. That might deter some of these crazed young people if they understood what hell means.

Oh was trying to keep up with this thread....since I “sensed” a Columbine type of event here....and it has turned out to be just that.
(The newspeople saying today that the gun toting young man used one of the Colmbine Killer’s web “tirade” almost verbatim in what he posted on the web after he had killed the YWAM two individuals. (Which also reminds us of the Virginia Tech killer).

But there is still work to be done before He comes....loved ones to be saved....I think the fields will become increasingly ready for harvest and maybe the prayer shall be with the Lord’s: Call forth the laborers unto the harvest, Lord. As the night darkens and the hatred of Christians and Jews increases.....those who know the Ancient of Days and His Son, Jesus Christ, must be following after His Holy Spirit in such a way as others follow us and we get out of the way and they find the pearl of great price, new life in Jesus Christ! Who came not to make bad people better but to make dead people live! (and, yes, the bad people do usually become transformed in such a way that their lives shine out for His glory......may it be so for each one who calls on the Name of Jesus!)

I don't think so at all. He doesn't present the ability to think clearly, or to express any coherent thoughts. He just demonstrates the reactions of a hidden person that's haunted by the severely damaging experiences of his upbringing. It's clear he doesn't know who he is and has been in constant panic, because of that. His behavior and expression is simple reaction that opposes the elements of the experiences that haunt him. He's psychotic and it appears it was caused by lifetime experience and lack of it, rather than having occurred naturally, as in std. schizophrenia, or brain damage by drug use, ect... I think this guy just ended up somewhere short of developing a multiple personality.

I don't think he could make any choices. He had no foundation, or concept of self. Note that no where does Murray ever claim to see, which means understand. The only points of reference he had were bad experiences, accompanied by confusion and contradiction. Grabbing what appeared to have been opposites, was simply a reaction to his prior bad experiences.

He had know idea who God was, so it's impossible to have Hated him. What he hated was the contradiction, confusion, experience and utter isolation that left him empty and unable to function in the world.

His dad wasn't around much. He spent all that time with his mother, that did a number on his head. His grudge was with what was done to him. If you'll notice, the others on that board escaped and healed from the damage of their former experience, because their minds remained intact. They weren't isolated like Murray was and learned how to escape and heal. Murray never got that.

But if we're speculating, I think there is a definite spiritual element that was part of this, so I don't see it as only a case of someone being mentally ill... but as I said, I don't want to come to conclusions, I'm just sharing my thoughts based on what I've seen so far.
I would agree with what you’ve said incindiary. I don’t think he was completely unaware of his surrounding, nor able to make decisions like you are suggesting spunkets. I would also caution against blaming all of this on his upbringing and his parents. You are making assumptions that everything he has written about his home life is true — and assuming some things he never even mentioned.
You say that he didn’t know G-d... I don’t think you can honestly say that for sure, can you? I won’t say that I know he DID, but neither can you make an assumption that he did NOT... And, even if one does not know G-d, one can definitely be influenced by the world of satanism — perhaps even moreso if one doesn’t know G-d. Even a secularist, or non-Christian, non-religious person could understand how something so dark, violent, and “evil” could influence someone’s way of thinking.
I know there are a lot of different ways psychosis can present, but IMHO it doesn’t appear that he was completely unable to make decisions...

The profile you linked to is a 23 year old female’s site, is it not? I don’t think this was the shooter’s profile... I think rather it was a friend’s? In one of his posts at the Ex-Pentecostal Forum he reprinted something that told of someone else’s experience. I don’t think this is the same person, but I could be wrong...
I don’t think the Vegas shooting is in the same “class” as this shooting or the mall shooting. It’s been reported that the shooting in Vegas is associated with gang violence and that a “fight” had started there yesterday... Growing up outside of Chicago, events like this were nightly news. Unfotunately, gang violence is quite common. I think the only reason it’s getting play in the press is because the gangbangers chose to shoot at their target as he got off a school bus...

Oh, man! You sure nailed it when you said, "severely damaging experiences of his upbringing"! What a surrealistic hell he had to live through as a child! What kind of a demon-possessed mother would search through her child's things and take away his Halo Blood & Gore III video game and his Death Rock genre CDs and Satan Rock genre CDs and Mayhem & Violence genre CDs?
No wonder he turned out so warped with a mother like that. Fortunately for his sanity, he did manage, in spite of his mother, to eventually get ahold of plenty of music with lyrics oozing suicidal death wishes, and violent video games that teach practical tactics and methods, including complete equipment lists, for your budding neighborhood adolescent mass murderer.
But unfortunately, by the time he was able to fill his existence with all these positive wonderful things, the damage to him had already been done by the evil actions of his wicked mother.
What is perhaps more distressing at this point is that someone named after his account is posting at the Independent Spirits website... and that person doesn’t sound like they’re doing very well right now either...
I’m going to add whomever that is to my prayer list, and I would suggest others do the same... (You can see some of the posts on the front page of that forum).
