CDC Works to Track Down 44 Passengers Who Flew With TB-Infected Woman
Saturday, December 29, 2007
CHICAGO Health officials are trying to track down American Airlines passengers in 17 states for testing after a California woman flew while sick with a dangerous strain of tuberculosis.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a California woman boarded an American Airlines flight in New Delhi, India, on December 13th.
The flight stopped at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport before continuing on to San Francisco.
CDC officials are working on tracking down 44 people who sat within two rows of the woman on the flight. She is being treated in isolation at a California hospital.
A health official says because the disease is still in its early stages, doctors don’t know what her prognosis is.

“Jihadists’ useful idiots”
By Joel Mowbray
December 24, 2007
EDITORIAL SNIPPET: “Given that hard evidence is often scarce in trials of unsuccessful terrorists, prosecutors in Miami no doubt felt fortunate to be trying defendants who participated in a ceremony pledging allegiance to al Qaeda and it was captured on video.
Add to that ironclad proof that the leader of the cell requested from a man he believed to be a terrorist financier boots, uniforms, vehicles, machine guns and $50,000. Several of the defendants took surveillance photos of government buildings. Just in case the reason for the request was unclear, Narseal Batiste stated on tape that it was for creating an “Islamic army” to wage a “full ground war” and commit an attack that would be “as good or greater than 9/11,” such as blowing up the Sears Tower.
It wasn’t enough. He wasn’t convicted.”
ISRAEL says it has seized a truck carrying chemicals used to make explosives hidden in bags marked as EU aid for the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
The army said 6.5 tonnes of potassium nitrate were in bags marked as sugar from the European Union for Palestinians in the coastal enclave. EU officials in Jerusalem had no immediate comment. The cargo in a Palestinian truck was travelling in the occupied West Bank and seized several weeks ago at an Israeli checkpoint, the army said.
The EU is the largest provider of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. Israel tightened its military and economic cordon of the Gaza Strip after Islamist Hamas seized the territory in a June war with secular Fatah.

Hamas holds 1,700 passengers of two ferries hostage in Gulf of Aqaba in standoff with Egypt
December 29, 2007
Our military and intelligence sources reported earlier that the hundreds of Hamas and other terrorist chiefs aboard the Jordanian ferry The Princess threatened to torch the craft anchored opposite Nuweiba, Sinai, and scuttle it with everyone aboard unless Egypt permitted them to land without conditions.
A 62-year old Palestinian female passenger, Shafiqa Bahisi, died under the strain. It also transpired that an Egyptian craft was involved in the standoff. Rather than surrender, the lead Hamas negotiator aboard the ferry, Kemal Neirab, aka Abu Awad, of the Popular Resistance Committees, Gaza, threatened a world-class human tragedy.
As the hours passed Saturday, Dec. 29, without a let-up, Hamas gathered tens of thousands of supporters from around the Gaza Strip to ram the Rafah gateway to Egyptian Sinai, while Cairo beefed up its security units at the terminal.

Thanks for the update.
My daughter took her kids on vacation to Egypt last spring. There were no bad incidents. Still, I think it’s a risky place to visit.

(December 28, 2007)
SNIPPET: “If anyone has any information regarding this structure fire they are encouraged to contact the Odessa Fire Marshall’s office at 335-4650 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 333-TIPS.”
Security forces recently seized six-and-a-half tons of nitrous potassium in a truck headed towards Israel from the Gaza Strip.
The potassium was hidden in bags of sugar and was probably intended to make explosives.

Explosives found in garage of Suffolk home (Virginia)
Dec 29, 2007
On December 29, 2007, a search warrant for explosives was executed at 6508 Ferry Point Road by members of the Suffolk Police and Fire Marshals. Just after noon the owner of the property, Elbert Tillman Jr., arrived at the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
After a search of the residence, barn and outbuildings, numerous illegal items were seized including more than 200 different types of illegal explosives, a large quantity of possible illegal steroids, syringes, 18 assorted rifles, numerous handguns, two computers and about 28 military boxes of ammunition.
Preliminary charges against Tillman, a former Navy SEAL, include four felony counts of manufacturing and possessing explosive materials and associated misdemeanor counts for possessing explosives. Additional charges are expected once all explosive devices are inventoried.

Justice lawyers have objected to the affiliation with ISNA, fearing it will undermine the case against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development in Dallas.") (August 27, 2007)

Michael Savage lawsuit links CAIR to 9/11 plot
The amended lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Northern California, also charges CAIR with using extortion, threats, abuse of the court system, and obtaining money via interstate commerce under false and fraudulent circumstances calling it a "political vehicle of international terrorism" and even linking the group with support of al-Qaida.
The federal government recently named CAIR, based in Washington, D.C., as an unindicted co-conspirator in an alleged scheme to funnel $12 million to the terrorist group Hamas.
It will be interesting to see how the Savage vs. Cair suit turns out.
Yes, it will be interesting to say the least.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Mexican army has confiscated guns from the entire police force of the town of Rosarito, near the Mexican border with the US.

Mexican troops carried out a similar crackdown in January on Tijuana police.”

Drug gangs are strong in Mexico’s border region, which includes Rosarito, a beach resort town south of Tijuana.”
