there are actually 6 in the top 100 from the suburban DC area— both MD and VA.
I don’t know why the editor or author made an issue out of three from Virginia being in the top 100. I counted 18 being in New York.

My High School is in the top 50.
For years it was in the top ten.
I guess the Lihs call this “Progress”.
Not surprising. Washington is the best educated metro area in the country and probably the intellectual capital as well, frightening as that thought may be.
There are 4 in Texas on the Mexican border. More in Dallas and Houston but four on the border is interesting.
