To be fair some of the Muslim leaders in Britain did condem the treatment of the teacher sorry cannot name them because I was not paying attention but they did make statements to that effect.

Good point many men I have noticed in Britain even from the older generations have stopped opening doors and giving up seats in public transport to women for fear of ending up getting a mouth full of abuse from the so called female.

The so called women’s movement promulgated by the MSM has never been a women’s movement. From the outset it was controlled by the lesbian advocates. While professing to be for the women of the world they actually were promoting the homosexual lifestyle.

My take is that she was either very naive or worried that as one of the children of the same name wanted the bear called that to have gone for a different name would have caused trouble.

Whichever she did not understand Islam at all and that is worrying to me her working in such a place and not understanding what could happen to her. She did herself, her family and her country which now has to campaign for her release any favours.

She committed 2 fundamental errors here, Muslims do not name anything other than their children after their so called prophet and my understanding is that a bear in many Muslim circles is considered an unclean animal as it is a spiteful one.

She should have steered clear of both and chosen a different cuddly toy and name, even if there was a vote on the name she would have moderated the vote and could have changed the name.

Having said all of this her treatment was despicable and something that no country should condone it.

“but if a white male with a job opens a door for a woman in the US....they are all over him like a cheap suit!!!!”

That happened to me several years ago. I was raised to be a gentleman (hell, when we weere youngsters we were taught to stand whenever a woman walked into the room; always let the woman take her seat before you take yours, etc.). Well, anyway, several years ago I held the door open for a woman who was behind me, to let her enter the building while I held the door, and she tore into me like I had just committed the gravest of sins (and I guess I had, to a feminist’s twisted logic); she yelled and berated me and caused a scene. Now the only women I will hold a door open for are my wife, my mother, my sister, and a woman pushing a baby stroller or carrying a baby in her arms. All others can use their own initiative to open the door.

Tammy Bruce is an author, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and FOX News political contributor. Her books include “The New Thought Police,” “The Death of Right and Wrong,” and “The New American Revolution.” Bruce was the president of the Los Angeles chapter of NOW from 1990-1996 and served on the National NOW Board of Directors. Her website is at www.tammybruce.com.
The best way to support the very important point of view espoused by someone like Tammy Bruce is to buy one or more of her books. Which I'm going to do today.

In addition to the Left’s power grab agenda, a great number of Americans, both Democrat and Republican, are in denial about the threat, and have been since 1980 or before. Hal Lindsey was writing about this in the 1980s. It really is a lot like the Nazis because many powerful Americans defended, apologized for, and even supported them and had their head in the sand then too.

As far as opening doors for women, I’ve been in those awkward situations where I didn’t know if I should open the door or let it slam in their face. Usually, when I open the door nowadays, they say “Thank You”.

There is that. True about the Teddy and insult somewhat. I’m sure she intended no insult to Teddy or Muhammmmmmmud.

Though . . . undoubtedly, she was trying to fit in and go with the flow in a strange culture who’s people she loved.

I have no trouble having compassion for her.

Especially against the murderous demonized ragheads.

The NOW NAGs are leftists first and women second. They know where their loyalties lie and its not on behalf of championing women's rights but to promote and maintain leftist power. The feminist movement sold out its soul a long time ago.

Teddy Bear Case Exposes Failure of American Feminist Leaders

No shock here.
As a flyover country hick, I listened to a LOT of talk radio in
Los Angeles during 1995-2005.

Early on, I'd say Mavis Leno (wife of Jay) did at least one or two
radio appearances per year (on KABC 790AM?) to raise awareness about
how aweful females have it in the less-pleasant parts of the planet,
such as Afghanistan.
Yeah, Mavis is a feminist, but even as a redneck from flyover country,
I did respect her talking about the issue.

After 9-11...I didn't hear ONE radio appearance by Mavis, even
out to 2005.

My naive conclusion: why appear on radio when you'd have to admit
that Dubya and a small band of men and women in the US Military...
liberated more oppressed women in a couple of months than
NOW has in decades?

Yep, American "feminists" are conspicuously "MIA" since Dubya actually
did something about getting women out from under the Islamic/Sharia'
whip and into classrooms.

Shame on me for failing to note that.
Tammy Bruce is a decent "law-and-order lesbian".
She sure caught grief when she broke with the NOW chapter of Los Angeles.
And mentioned how she was savaged in class (at USC?) when she mentioned
that there might have been some plausible reasons for the detainment
of Japanese-Americans on the West Coast in the early days following
Pearl Harbor.

I would really like to slap this women. It’s bitches like her who have RUINED male/female common courtesy. Had I witnessed what she did to you that would have been the last time she lipped off to a male for being nice. If she’d been raised right the proper thing to do would have been to smile and say thank you and sail right through.

I’m sorry that that bitch has made you lessen your standards though.

Oh, my standards are still intact. Now I’m just selective to whom they apply.

You have hit the nail on the head! It’s BDS! First they had to drop all pretext of supporting fidelity in marriage to keep the party line, and now you will not find but one or two post-Bush articles when you search the NOW site for “Afghanistan” while there are many beforehand showing their solidarity with the burqa babes.

"Induced abortion before first term pregnancy increases the risk of breast cancer." (Lancet, 2/22/86, p. 436)

Important to note that it was a letter, not a peer-reviewed study. But you're right that it doesn't seem to be considered in their views.

In my personal experience with the feminazis, I find these women to be hostile backstabbers to other women, e.g. in the late 70s, I was a new stay-at-home mom.

From my personal experience with the feminazis, that doesn't surprise me!

I meant, of course, only biting sarcasm towards radical Muslims and none whatsoever against that poor, unfortunate woman. If Theodore Roosevelt had still been President of the US and the woman a US citizen, the Sudan would have already been invaded. My sympathies go to you and our other British cousins, who have yet more of these extremist rubbish to contend with than do we.

Excellent photo section of the VP on your personal page, also. I greaty admire the VP and have met him. He and I both are fond of retrievers and paint horses.

How sad, the feminist groups of America are. How sad that these people are calling for her head. It was a 7-year old boy who suggested the name and even has spoken out in her defnse, but these people are not listening.
A school teacher who was jsut trying to help does not deserve death! The feminists need to “take a stand” instead of staying quiet, it is a test that they are indeed failing.
