Frost's father is self-employed. He owns the building in which he works. His father makes about $45,000 a year while his mother is employed is at an unspecified salary by a medical publishing house that doesn't provide health insurance coverage. Bottom line. This is from Mark Tapscott, who is an editorial page editor at the Washington Examiner, has been tracking all this on the blogs. "Two points. First, people make choices and it's clear the Frosts have made choice to invest in property and a business, but not in private health insurance.

I'm going to suspect that Frost's father is like another self-employed guy I know, who makes lots of money in his business, but makes everything he can a "business expense", so that his official taxable salary is low

Well, yeah, but I can't fault the guy for that. Government tax law is so ridiculous that a self-employed person has to gross probaby (my guess, but a decent one) $35 an hour to reap the same as a corporate employee whose gross salary is tabulated at $22 an hour.

That this piece of scum has no more ethics than to take advantage of SCHIFF and then to allow his kid to be used as a shill, is contemptible from a personal.

You'd think a guy who supporting his family and making a nice living doing what he loved in a free market would comprehend the value of honor? Yipes. Sad to say that while I love to think business owners are by nature and inclination honorably conservative, my real-world experience has proven that it's not true. It's more 50-50, shockingly, though I may be wrong -- just anectodal. A woman I admired for her business guts in running a small business, was a liberal. Eventually I observed over time that she payed her employees very meanly, gave raises begrudgingly, failed to deliver on promises of health insurance and retirement (I never asked for them, so don't look at me), and eventually cheated at wage payment enough to get nailed by the Employment Board (yes, you can look at me). Yet this woman was outraged that anyone could be a Republican, against minimum wage -- why Republicans hate the little guy! I never did because I didn't care, but had I asked her to increase my own <$10/hr wage by the same amount as the recent rise in minimum wage, she'd have been astonished that I could even suggest such a thing!
